Poinsettias too?

Two for the price of one today. . . LOL

I wanted to show off my Poinsettia cards today too. I totally CASED an idea from Jlazarski (my good friend Jessica) on SCS, and I loved her idea of using the flower stamp from SU's Delight in Life to make a poinsettia. How pretty is that?!

So you stamp the flower twice with versamark, cover in gold EP, and heat. Then cut them out and layer them one on top of the other so the petals all show. I used a gummy pop dot in between to give it dimension as well. Then I used ribbon (old olive) behind the flower to accent it. Different dp on layers to give it a country feel or my favorite is the elegant one with vanilla cs and the linen cuttlebug folder with Happy Holidays (SU Frosty set) gold embossed on the dp too. This one has antique square brads in the corners to accent just a little. I think I may make a few more of these, as I need 10 for the month for our Christmas Card Challenge. They were fun to make and pretty quick too.

Fall is in the air . . .

It is getting chilly here this afternoon, and after yesterday's rain storm and a few showers today--the leaves are coming off the trees. I had to get a few quick pictures to show you the colors changing right in my own backyard. The hills are not quite so colorful yet, but right here--yellows, reds, and oranges are popping out. I love these colors, and I just have to show you a rock 'n roll card I made last week to symbolize fall too. You may have seen it in my SCS gallery. If so, sorry for the repeat.

Almost caught up?!

Well, I am getting there. I have 2 more swaps to work on for October, so I am getting caught up. These are going out later today or first thing in the morning to Michele (delfinaus--hope I spelled it right) for her SU technique swap. The truck ATC is for faux metal, and the Winter one is for Faux Mother of Pearl. The truck was tweaked a bit--by adding a driver, but I did not like the trimming I did on the window, so I saved that one for myself. I will just send plain trucks to the gals--so I don't ruin theirs. It was tough trying to cut in a spot that small.

Items used on Truck ATC:

  • more mustard cs

  • yellow patterned paper

  • real red, white, and black on the truck

  • silver embossing powder

  • sakura glitter pen

  • SU markers

  • antique brads

  • window punch for the birthday (felt I needed to add a word to the Wishing You the Best medallion--as in best what?--birthday popped in my head thus it was added on a punch and bradded to the card)

  • creamy caramel ribbon to match

  • Inks: white, black, creamy caramel, and versamark for the EP

Items used on the Winter ATC:

  • Lumiere for the faux mother of pearl (fmop)

  • Inks: black Stazon ink, brilliant blue, and bashful blue

  • Stamps: snowflake from Frosty set, Tree for All Seasons, and Season by Season

  • Marvy mega scalloped square

  • SU silver organdy ribbon

  • pop dots

  • ticket punch for corners

Shhh . . . it's a secret!

I recently made a couple of tins for a hostess appreciation on SCS, and I think I am safe to show you this one without one of my favorite hostesses seeing it . . . this pretty rose tin was made special for someone who likes flowers and not "cutesy" stuff. I really hope she likes it as much as I enjoyed making it. So . . . tell me what you think of it.

Oh . . . please excuse the sticky note at the bottom covering the tag. It has a name on it that I needed to cover up when taking this picture to post. **wink**

Added a playlist to my blog

Let me know what you think of it . . . too distracting? Nice personal touch? If you don't like it, I will understand. It may be distracting if you are trying to read. I liked it on another blog I checked out tonight, so I thought I would add it. You can turn it off by pausing it if you would like--it is found at the bottom of the page.

Belated Birthday card

I am on the Birthday Random Act of Kindness group at Splitcoaststampers, and I had a birthday card for "someone" on September 1st. Well . . . as luck would have it our time got away from a few of us, and the list was a little late. . . then I was out of town (ah well, ya know, life). So I felt really bad last night that I have a birthday card going out to an SCS sister that is late, so I made this card for her last night to put in the mail first thing this morning. It was from a Penny Black ATC that I had made as a prototype for my Penny Black swap (changed the colors a bit on the one I used for the ATC swap) that just ended on August 31st. For more pictures of the swapped ATCs check out my Swap Album at SCS.

So . . . I used this card with the sentiment on the front that says "Forgive me. . . " and the inside says the snail mail is running late, so the ladybug is helping out. Hope you had a great day! Happy Birthday from your SCS sister Kelly a.k.a. Littlekel90
