So excited . . . and drawing a winner!!!!

Hey there, ladies!!

I got the okay from Jessica Lynn to show you all the final picture of the tutorial/project that I helped her out with. I made this cute little tin with her adorable Scottish Terrier stamp, and I couldn't wait to show you!! :D

I can't give you all the details here, but you can see them in the newsletter if you sign up at http://www.jessicalynnoriginal.com/ It should be out in just a few days so don't dilly-dally. Hurry there NOW if you want to get the new newsletter. I believe she is preparing it for April 1st.

Btw, I used CE on her cool heart glasses, and I am kind of bummed the shine didn't show up in the picture. :(

Oh yeah, do you want to know who the winner is of this cute little tin?! Since no one guessed the correct stamp set, I put your names in a container and drew out . . .

CONGRATS, CHELEMOM!! I sure hope you have a puppy dog, as there are treats sealed inside for him/her. I will try and reach you through your profile; otherwise, please email me.

Thanks for all of your comments.

Wow, look what I got from my SBS4 secret sister

Okay, I just had to post again this week to thank my SBS4 secret sister for the great package I received today! There were LOTS of designer papers, ribbons, fibers and charms, a beautiful post it notepad cover, bottlecap magnets on a little tin tray, and an Adirondack Espresso ink pad. What terrific stuff. I hope I am able to make her proud with all this pretty stuff. I am feeling creative but not quite sure where to start. :) Just wanted to drop in and say thanks!

Lots going on

Hello, everyone!

I hope you had a TERRIFIC weekend with family and/or friends! We got away for the day, and although it was busy with a lot of preparation, it was definitely great to go spend time with my parents. I even got to feed carrots to the "boys." They are getting so big, and so cute. Warrior has his ears laid back here. He is a little more reserved, somewhat shy and cautious around people he isn't really used to, but Dark Knight Junior (can't decide if we want to call him Jr or Knight Jr --anyway . . . ), he is very curious and not quite as shy on the surface. LOL

I finally finished my cards for a tea/coffee friendship swap on SCS hosted by Tammy (aka Feathers&Ink). I am really pleased with the overall card, but wow did it take a while to color all of that. I used my favorite technique of coloring with prismacolor pencils and blending with gamsol. I may do a tutorial for this soon. I have been thinking about it. Let me know if you would be interested in how I do it in the comment section below. If there is enough interest, I will do so.

Card details: Stamps used were Pansies and Teacup from Stampabilities, the tag is from the Terrific Tags boxed set from SU. I used textured lavendar lace for the base layer, white for the floral and teacup image and perfect plum and vanilla cs for the tag.

I folded a 4 1/4 x 11 inch piece of white cs to make the card base itself. It was then scored at 2 3/4 inches from both ends to form a trifold. Then after the lavendar lace pieces were placed on the front flaps, the teacup was placed on the bottom piece, and the pansies overlapped the card edge to line up well with the teacup, then secured. Inside I punched a holed in the top corner of a capuccino drink mix pounch and fastened it with a gold brad. I then closed the card, wrapped it with a piece of sheer vanilla ribbon and attached the tag with a small piece of gold cording. I started out with silver, but I think the gold really pulls the yellow out more in the pansies. The tag has some sparkly stardust stickles on it to accent a bit, and that is it. Most of the time was put into coloring, gamsoling and cutting those tiny flower buds out. :)

I finished my first project for JessicaLynnOriginals on Saturday night as well, but I am not sure I am allowed to show you everything yet, as I am putting together a tutorial for her, but as soon as I know for sure it is okay, I will post what I can here. (I have not forgotten about my promise to pull a name as well for the item created -- See posts below for more info). Here is a little sneak peek though. Now, maybe you can guess which stamp set it is from?! *wink* Check out all of her cute stamps at www.jessicalynnoriginal.com/shopwithus

Thanks for stopping by!

Good Friday AND . . . JLO in the house!

Okay, first and foremost, I have to admit that GinaK inspired me to post this . I have had this image saved since last year, but I felt it was time to share it with as many people as I could. Note: You can click on the image to enlarge it and to be able to read it better.

I hope you take the time today to thank our Lord God for giving his only Son so that we may be forgiven of our sins. I feel I am not worthy of such love, but in His eyes we are all worthy! Just think of how many generations have been saved or will be saved because of the crucifixion. I also hope you get to celebrate Easter (the day he arose from the dead) with your family and loved ones! We will be going north this Sunday for church and dinner with my parents, so I want to take this time to also wish you ALL a very Happy Easter! :)

Here are a few Easter cards I whipped up this afternoon. They use the GinaK Designs stamp set called He is Risen! I used vellum on two of them. The bg stamp with the different names for Jesus is from Eureka Stamps. This was stamped in basic brown, and then after it dried thoroughly, I used versamark and gold EP for the cross. The vanilla card was gold embossed as well. The pink one has the verse from John 11:25-26 behind the vellum and then repeated again on the inside with Happy Easter. I think my family will enjoy them. The calla lily is for my mom for cooking us dinner. It is a pretty fuscia color.

Also, I received my stamps from Jessica (JessicaLynnOriginal stamps) yesterday, and I am looking forward to playing with them this weekend, too. No one has guessed yet which stamp set I will be using, and . . . I also see that my blog count has rolled past 5K, so . . . whatever I create this weekend could be yours if you guess the correct stamp set. Go to JessicaLynnOriginal and check out the cute stamp sets she has there. If no one guesses, I just might have to pull a name from this post or from March 17th. So be sure and post a guess either way here or on the older post (March 17th below).

Thanks for stopping by!

Stampin' time and Good News!

Happy Saint Patty's Day to ya by gosh and by golly! *in my best Irish accent* LOL

I squeezed in some stampin' time this past weekend (AND prepared my taxes). Aren't you proud of me? *LOL* I even colored some images last night for a friendly tea card swap I am in. Wow, didn't realize I was all that productive until now.

My DH needed a card for a really nice guy who was his instructor the past few weeks from the professional truck driving school. I believe his name is George. Well, George had surgery last week, and the guys from class needed a get well card for him. DH told them that I make cards, so I came up with a couple of different ideas, and he took these two to school with him today. I am really anxious to see which one they picked. I really had fun coloring the bright one, but then got a little stumped on the tag. This took me some time to come up with, but I really like the bright one better. Both cards were made with the Classic Pickups set from Stampin Up.

This one used glorious green, summer sun, and real red cs. I tried out my new Graphite Brilliance ink (WOW compared to basic black or the smell of StazOn), and I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color. Then I added crystal effects to the glass and headlights and sakura gel pen to make the chrome part sparkle. Not sure you can see that in the photo, but believe me, it is there. The dp is embossed Harley-Davidson paper in diamond-plated design, so I matched these diamonds with the diamond-shaped silver brads from my collection. A little golden yellow hemp cord to finish off the image, popped up this layer, and it was all set. The inside says Get Well Soon to fit the situation (since DH was worried it did not say that on the outside).

To appease the milder crowd, I used cs in cool carribean blue, black and white. This one I kept simple and only added a bigger piece of the HD dp and black cs to layer. I then used the edge of the designer label punch from SU for the corners of the image, sponged with bashful blue ink and added a couple of round silver brads and matching ribbon.

So, leave a comment and let me know which one do you like the best?

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS!

I got an email yesterday from Jessica of JessicaLynnOriginal about helping out with tutorials for her newsletter. I am so excited, and I can't wait to get started on them. As soon as I get my adorable stamps she is sending out today, I will be working on a tutorial that I have planned (oooh, can't tell you about it yet). I am sure you will all like it though, especially any dog lovers out there. *wink* just a little tease I guess. I will keep you posted, so be sure and check back next week! **Better yet, subscribe above by email so you don't MISS a thing! **

In the meantime, check out Jessica's store at the link above (click on JessicaLynnOriginal). Try and guess which stamp set I will use first. First one to guess correctly, I will send you a little something special too!

Another Hippo

Wow, has it really been that long since I posted?! I have been a little bit busy, but I found a little time today to make another Hippy Hippo card! :)

I just love lavendar and green together, so after coloring this hippo with my lavendar prismacolor pencils, I dug out some almost amethyst and lavendar lace and glorious green (or maybe it's garden green). I have been wanting to try my hand at the tilt card I saw on Charmaine's blog using Melanie's cutesy cute hippo, so here is my version. Charmaine's tutorial is here! She makes it really easy to see how it is done. Mine only tilts slightly though, because I did not have those terrific dimensionals (used recycled foam from trimming stamps, and you really need somehwat of a hexago shape I think to get it just right). Anyway, mine kinda tilts to the one side but not the other so much *wink*
After cutting the hole, using the sticky foam, pennies, etc from the tutorial, then I trimmed my white cs down, sponged the edges with almost amethyst, adhered it to my glorious green and SU dp layer, added some photo corners and liquid pearls. I laid that aside until it was *cough* dry (see note below), and layered my two shades of purple to my white cs base. I stamped the Hippy Birthday sentiment to the left and added a pretty prima for balance.

Note: Do not move the card until your liquid pearls dry completely. It slipped from my hand and landed smack dab on my shirt, so the pearls aren't perfect anymore . . . a little wrinkly they are. Thank God they were ALMOST dry! :) LOL
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed another hippo from me and a chuckle or two! :) Kel

Have you seen Melanie Muenchinger's blog yet?!

Have you seen Melanie Muenchinger's blog yet?! I purchased her Just So Hippy Set from Gina K, and I just LOVE it! I have so many ideas of different things I want to use them for, but like my title says, "I am always workin' and wishin' I was stampin'."

Note: You all get a real treat today-- TWO posts in ONE day! LOL The last post was just for fun, but if you want to see it, scroll down or if you came here from a link for today's post you will have to click on my Title way up top to get older posts to show up at the bottom of this post, etc.

So, Melanie is having a really sweet giveaway with a really cute purse and a new stamp set (not yet released), so you may want to stop by her blog. She is celebrating being in the Top 100 blogs! Pretty cool, eh?! Of course *roll eyes* I am lessening my chances by telling you all about it though, so if you win the new set . . . you have to remember old Kelly with a stamp-off of some images . . . OK?! :) (just until I am able to get my own set, dontcha know).

Okay, so in honor of Melanie, and I hope I do her proud, here is my first card with my Just So Hippy stamp set -->

I thought the cute little Henrietta Hippo would look really cute in Groovy Guava cause she just looks like a groovy kinda girl. Have you seen her yet with the cute little heart tattoo on her butt? (Yep, pretty groovy) *wink* Well, no heart tattoo this time, but maybe next time. I also used purely pomegranate and some matching ribbon. She is quite forgetful, so she tied a bow to her little tail. You see . . . the sentiment says, "Sorry I'm so behind!"

It seems like I always remember someone's birthday 2 weeks in advance and then forget until the day before or the day of . . . well, our postal service isn't quite that fast. I guess I should send those cards out 2 weeks early when I am thinking of it or like our Groovy girl up there . . . I get a *little behind.* :) Hope you enjoyed the card. I know I enjoyed making it. Don't forget to stop by Melanie's blog. She has some adorable cards, and DS is such a cutie! You can see him in some of the pictures, too.

Tagged Again . . . so I am giving in

Okay, ladies. I have been tagged again, so I guess I will try and come up with some things to tell you. Not that my life is that exciting . . . really! :) I told my good friend Chris before that I don't usually do this stuff. So now I really feel bad, but I have been tagged a couple of times, so I guess maybe you all want to hear some stuff OR . . . misery likes company. :D LOL

Ya know, I am pretty forgetful, and I am afraid I might use some of this info as a password or something. Read somewhere to be careful of your answers, because hackers can figure you out. LOL . . . well, like I said, I am really not that exciting/interesting anymore, so I am not sure what they would want my info for anyway.

I was tagged by Kathy from Pretty in Ink. I really like her blog, her creations, and her personality that shows through on her blog. Her mom, Nettie, is pretty dang cool too. So if you have never stopped by their blogs. Check them out! (Links are clickable on their names)

So . . . Here goes! A little about me and my 5 faves:
