Yorkies with spunk

I just adore these Yorkie images from www.JessicaLynnOriginal.com , and you girls know me . . . I couldn't go out without a fight. LOL So . . . just in case I had to create two more cards tonight . . . quickly I might add . . . to add to the JLO Olympic Games on Jessica's website. You have until tonight (Sunday night) at midnight, so . . . if you haven't created any yet . . . GET busy!! :)
This little sweetie is my "pailpuppy" from the Fall Yorkie set. I had some scrap ruby red, black, and brown textured cs left over from the alpaca cards I made Thursday and Friday ( I didn't forget to show you the sets -- bare with me and I will post those tomorrow morning). So, I had the black already embossed with the mosaic cuttlebug folder, layered on some brown and some of the wanted paper from SU, colored my image, added some photo corners, "I love my dog" ribbon and a bright red fire hydrant. All of this was touched up with my sakura glitter pen to make the pail look silvery, and she is ready to go. The second card is a spin on an old SCS challenge that I just loved earlier this year when I was creating some Christmas cards, so I used the 15/16-inch circle punch for my Yorkie with daisy image and punched the black circles with my 1-inch circle punch. Then the floral part from the wanted paper just seemed perfect for the circles, too. A couple of pretty textured photo corner punches, tan twill, a Love That Dog flatback button, and a couple of BG brads, and it was all together. This was also layered on ruby red cs. Hope you like her, too. I really think this little yorkie has SPUNK! :)
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a great weekend. I will have some cute alpacas pics for you tomorrow, too. Tata for now.

Critters and candy

First I have to say you NEED to hurry over to MichelleO's blog. She is giving away the cutest donkey stamps I have ever seen! Check out her wonderful blog HERE, but I warn you, once you go there you will just HAVE to add her to your blog reading list. Her cards are scrumptious! :)

I got busy yesterday and a little bit this morning creating some cards to take to the Open Farm Day this weekend at my parents' farm. I really can't wait to see the babies again! I haven't even met Zack yet. Can ya believe it?! I even miss giving carrots to the bigger boys. I may just have to go shopping this morning for a few things (especially a bag of carrots to take up with me).

So I saw these really cute card holders/stationery sets on Kristine B's blog from Dannie's instructions, and I just have to try my hand at them. I am hoping to create at least two boxes to take with me. I don't have the box itself made yet, but here are the cards I plan to use.

So busy . . .

Hey there!
I have to apologize for the lack of bloggin' lately, especially to my SBS sisters whom I try to get around to at least once or twice a week. It has been a busy week. Although I quit my part-time job, I am in the process of opening up my own small website store. It isn't anything real fancy, but some of us girls at SCS were hoping to get some good deals on Spellbinders, Basic Grey, and C.C. Designs to name a few.
So . . . I decided that I could make this happen and still make a small profit from it . . . hence KL Stampin N Scrappin Store was born. I am going to try and keep a few things on hand but not a LOT of inventory, so if there is something you would like drop by and check out the store and send me an email at info@klstampinNscrappin.com I just sent in my first order today for Nestabilities at a grand total of $700+ (retail). I also hope to come up with an order tomorrow for Christine at C.C. Designs! Oooh, I can't wait to get the inventory and look at all *the pretties* before I send them off to their new homes! :) Now to come up with a great little gift to put in everyone's packages. Hmm . . . any ideas?! What do you like to receive in your package when you purchase? (for example, I love the little M&Ms GinaK sends or the tootsie rolls from Pamela at Firecracker Designs), but I thought maybe I would make mine something craft related like a little bling?! What do you think? Leave me a comment here and maybe a little bling will be coming your way, too!

Canning Jar Inspiration and a WINNER!

After canning from 1 p.m. to 12:20 a.m., I finally came up with enough inspiration and a little bit of time to make my fall card. I received an order from http://www.2ndchildhoodstore.com/ earlier this week (thanks Cherylynn) with the Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder, and I knew I just had to use this one with some fall colors. I really love pumpkins, and this new folder is SO pretty. It is a fairly simple card with layers of really rust, ruby red and glorious green with the sentiment from SU Give Thanks set stamped in black ink on vanilla cs layered on ruby red and chocolate chip. Accessorized with a few brown brads, and voila there ya have it.

Well, ladies . . . I only had 3 people play along with the inspiration challenge this past week. Sorry to anyone if you didn't get a chance to play, but I decided to choose the winner today anyway. I try to only keep them open for a week so I don't forget about them from one weekend to the next, and as it is after midnight here, it is officially Sunday anyway (so I did forget **blush**). Therefore, without further ado . . . The winner is Marcia by Cody.org (told my son to pick a number between 1 and 3. He chose 3), and Marcia was #3. Congrats, Marcia!! I will be sending you some High Hopes images and some new House Mouse images, too. Hope you don't already have them. :)

Thanks for stopping by everyone! Have a GREAT weekend.

Nikki's Blog Candy and a Challenge from me!

Today you have a couple of chances to win . . .

Nikki at Bunny-Zoe's blog has some yummy Basic Grey Figgy Pudding to give away as well as a sweet snow "woman" and sentiment. She recently reached 20,000 hits!! Wow, girl, and only 2 months ago was at 10K. Her blog is really sizzlin, so you better hurry over there now to see her terrific and CUUUUUTE creations!! Oh, yeah, while you are there, ya might want to comment so you can get in on the drawing, but if not you can just tell Nikki you are putting my name in again *wink* LOL (I wish!!)

Okay, now for my challenge. I recently tried my hand at canning, and not to badly if I do say so myself *wink* I didn't get a whole lot of cans for my hard work though (4 pints of salsa, 5 pints of pickled hot peppers, and with the help of my mother we made 13 pints of hot pepper jelly), but . . . I just have to show you how pretty they look. So . . . a good friend (Thanks, Deb) told me you should post a challenge on your blog with these pretty jars. So here it is. My challenge to you is to create a card with this picture as your inspiration.
You can either use the colors as your guide or think harvesting of vegetables from a garden. **ooh, I wish I had purchased that set from GinaK now** ah well, I will try and come up with something too. You have until next Saturday, September 20th to leave me a comment here with your link to your card (either your blog or any other web site ie SCS or Stamp Shack) showing us your creation! I will pick my favorite out of the bunch and also a random number to win an envelope of stamped images from me. ( I have some new High Hopes images coming and just got some new House Mouse too). So if you are game, leave your comment with your link to your card/creation here by next Saturday, September 20th to win!

Usin' up some scraps

All of these cards were made using up images that I already had colored, paper pieced, or embossed. I used other scraps that I had started too. These were in baggies in my basket full of "started cards/images." It makes me proud to get them finished and use up some scraps in the process. This first card was created for my Pap for grandparent's day. It was a quick 10-15 minute card this morning, as I didn't realize it was Grandparent's Day until my DH looked at the calendar. :) So I had a dark gray piece of cs already embossed from the other weekend playing with the Scor-Pal (I know it doesn't quite look dark gray in the pic, sorry), a piece of burgundy textured cs scrap and some kraft. The image is the oak tree from the Lovely as a Tree set embossed in gold on vanilla cs. The "twill" believe it or not was from the bottom pant leg of my son's shorts. He was going to throw it away after removing it (as he doesn't tie them shut at the bottoms) LOL, and I said hey, save that for me. That looks just like my twill in a darker shade of tan. Cool, huh?! I only wish I had added some brads now that I see the picture. Oh well, Pap really liked it, and he has it with him now, so no adding to it. LOL

The next card is a house mouse image I have had colored for a while from our (HMSOTM) House Mouse stamp of the month swap. The yellow number embossed cs is from Jennifer G, the purple layers and photo corners were from my scrap basket, and the pretty little dew drops were from one of my BFFs, Lee aka LuvLee. :) Stickles were added t sparkle up the party confetti and hat a bit, too.

The last card is a Hanna image I have had colored and paper pieced for a LONG time from my Hanna swap I hosted near the beginning of this year. I chose some dark purple, lovely lilac, and purely pomegranate colors to bring out the colors in her dress and shopping bags. The swiss dot piece was from JenniferG (Thanks again, Jenn!), and the patterned paper on the pomegranate piece believe it or not is from the Flourishes package. I really liked the swish/flourish that was on there, so I saved the paper, trimmed it down and used it on the small back panel. Again, the dew drops are from Lee (Thanks, girl!) A little doodling on the image and a piece of pomegranate double stitched ribbon (looks darker, I know, but it IS pom, really!) ties it all together.

Thanks for stopping by for a look. I hope to get my new JessicaLynn stamps this week, so stay tuned for more cards. Our challenge this month is fall colors. Oooh, I love those. I go through my earth elements cs WAY before I use up the other colors. :) Until next time . . . have a happy card day!

Some horse cards for my friends

Well, now that my good friend and stampin' sister, Jessica, has received her birthday card, I am able to show you these cards I made with the horse images KristineB sent me. I just fell in love with this horse, but I can't seem to find the stamp anywhere! I even forget who makes it. Kristine, please leave me a message reminding me. :) I have a "supplier" watching for it for me though. I sure hope she finds it before I use up all of my images *wink*

This one above was sent to Jessica for her birthday this coming week. She and her daughters really love horses. I am not sure, but I think Andrea might have enjoyed the card as much as her mom. :) Glad you liked it, girls! I really LOVED creating it.

This one was sent out to one of my SBS4 sister's. Shhh . . . it's a secret. Hope she receives it before she sees her card here. :) Thanks for stopping by.

Card details:
Stamps: Horse ??
Ink: Brilliance graphite black
CS: close to cocoa, black, chocolate chip, and white
DP: Outlaw
Acc/Tools: Stars, oval coluzzle, scalloped oval small nestabilities die, photo corner punch, prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, mosaic cuttlebug embossing folder piercing tool, matching ribbon, and brad

FCD DT? . . . not this time around :(

Last month I was working on a few card ideas that I submitted to Firecracker Designs by Pamela. Although I only have the one set from her designs (Butterflies -- Fly), I truly enjoyed looking through her gallery of stamps. There are so many terrific flowers and nature stamps that I could spend paychecks and paychecks there. Alas, I held off on ordering until I submitted my cards, and now I am trying to decide which set I would like to order. She has a special right now that you can get 4 sets for under $25. Stop by her blog and check them out!

Here are a few cards that I created last month for the design team tryout using her stamps. I wasn't allowed to show anyone until the DT was chosen. I didn't make it on the team, but I thought they were definitely good enough to show you any way. I hope you like them. I know I sure enjoyed creating them. :)
This first one is an A2 size with quite a few different layers on top. The butterflies were stamped on vellum, colored and accented with black and white gel pens. The front panel is raised up a little bit, and then the sentiment at the bottom is raised up even more. The wings of the butterflies were curled to look more 3D. The base is really rust with glorious green and black cs accents.

The second card here is a 5 x 5 card with really rust again, the same DP from Daisyhill, real stitching as well as faux stitching on this one. The real stitches are in black and the faux in white gel pen. There is a closeup of the butterfly this time. I used some iridescent white twinkling H2Os on the sun and stars in the dp, too.
This last one was a challenge from a friend, too. We were to use a big plastic tag on our cards. I stamped the butterfly in Brilliance graphite black, embossed it with clear EP, then colored it with markers in pale greens and yellows. Then I added some dazzling diamonds to give it some sparkle. The edges of the tag were colored yellow, and then I sprayed clear lacquer on it to adhere all the glitter and cololrs. The base of the card is certainly celery with barely banana and (I believe) bashful blue. The sentiment was stamped in bashful blue, and the word FLY was stamped around the bg as well. The photo corners and wide white grosgrain ribbon were also added.
Thanks for looking!

JLO card for the Olympic Games

Quick post here, because I should be working by now . . . where did the morning go?! Anyway . . .

I know it is getting closer and closer to fall, but I just love the soft subtle colors with this spring bug set. I created it for JessicaLynn's Olympic challenge.

This cute dragonfly stamp is from the Spring Bugs set found at http://www.jessicalynnoriginal.com/

The DEETS: I made him into a shaker card by stamping him on vellum, then coloring, cutting a smaller circle into my appricot appeal cs, and then adhering the dragon fly to the back of that piece of cs. Then I used foam tape around the circle and filled it with tiny beads. I then adhered the other side of the foam tape to white cs base for my card and added ribbons, white gel pen, tiny prima flowers, and stickles to sparkle it up a bit.

Stamps: Spring Bugs from JLO (link above) and a plaid bg stamp. There are tiny dragonflies in the bg, too but hard to see in the picture.

Ink: Brilliance graphite black and my Bic Mark-Its

CS: appricot appeal, pretty in pink, and certainly celery

Acc: ribbon $1 spot at Target, white gel pen, tiny primas, waterfall stickles, circle and scallop circle nesties

Thanks, SBS4 sisters!! (see their blogs on the right hand side under SBS4 group). Here are a couple of RAK cards I received today from Seleise and Yanitza. If you are wondering, my name was drawn in our SBS4 group to be "rained" on this month by the other girls in the group. It has been so much fun receiving cards from all over because some of the girls are from here in the continental US, some from Canada, one in Puerto Rico, a few from the UK and a few from Australia. It is so cool to receive beautiful cards from my friends. I have them sitting on my desk so I can admire them, but I will save them to look at later, too. Just a reminder of the love and thoughtfulness of others. Isn't it great that we all meet here on the Internet no matter where we are located?!

This one is from Yanitza. Look at all the pretty layers and embellishments on this one. She even sewed real stitches on it. :) I don't get my sewing maching out often enough. This is beautiful, Yanitza.

This one is from Seleise. Very pretty in different shades of green and accented in purple. She had pretty dew drops on here, but thanks to the postal services rollers -- they completely shattered. (side note -- extra cs or crimped cs covering these little gems sometimes help). Either way, the card is very pretty, and I appreciate her taking the time to share it with me. :) Thanks, Seleise!
