Ready for Christmas yet?

. . . me neither. But I have purchased a few items that I know my family members have been looking for or would like. :) Really, my thoughts have been more about finishing up some more Christmas cards before the mad rush starts to get everything done.

These first two cards were created with the Lovely as a Tree set from Stampin Up. The first one was partially CASEd from someone on SCS, and I just commented on her card a couple of nights ago. I am having difficulty finding it again to give her credit. Sorry, but if it was you, please let me know.

The blue one was started in a workshop last weekend at my neighbor's home, but finished up here with some stickles. The bg of the image is brayered with different shades of blue on glossy white, then cut apart to look like a window, placed carefully, sentiment added, then stickles last to let it sit and dry. Uggh, don't mind the slight smudge of blue ink at the top -- that stressed me out for a while, but then I created a couple more, so . . . I let it go. . . I think. *wink*

These little heart cuties are from the I love my . . . set at JessicaLynnOriginal, and they all three come in the set with different sentiments of things you may love. They are also on sale right now at 15% off. Who doesn't LOVE a deal?! I created them with the BG figgy pudding Toyland paper and black and real red cs from Stampin Up. The snowflake panel was created with glossy photo paper ran through the snowflake cuttlebug folder then sponged with red ink.

I am heading up to the farm for the weekend, so . . . Happy Stamping everyone! I think I will take a few items to color in the evening if I am not too exhausted. DS and DM are participating in the alpaca show in Syracuse, New York (think happy thoughts and prayers for a safe return).

Happy Stampin N Scrappin!

Some Halloween Cuties

I just had to get working on some Halloween cards, not that I usually give them out, but these images from C. C. Designs were so dog-gone cute that I just had to use them. I bought some for the store, and I only have a few left. Check here and scroll to the bottom for the Halloween stamps that are left -- SORRY, AS OF SUNDAY NIGHT, THEY ARE ALL SOLD OUT . I am definitely no Kittie C. when it comes to creating scenes. I think I should have stamped, masked, and/or layered, but I still think it is fairly cute. I plan on sending this little sweetie to my neice who happens to have been born on Halloween 15 years ago this year. :) I think she will like it. She LOVES purple, hence the purple sponging to make it look spooky in the bg and the purple brads. the image of the devilish Olivia was stamped on white cs and colored with Bic-Mark-Its, then some prismacolor pencil and gamsol for the grassy area, perfect plum and almost amethyst for the sponging of the sky area. All of the stamps on this card are from C.C. Designs Sugarplum Halloween set also found at http://www.allthatscraps.com/ (I am sure I am sold out of these ones).

Now the Spooky, Spooky, Spooky set was used for this card as well as the large oval classic , small oval scalloped , small classic circle, and small scalloped circle nestabilities, and also the pumpkin harvest cuttlebug folder -- all sold at KL Stampin N Scrappin Store

I used a black card base, different size squares and rectangles of a scrap of light green, SU really rust, pumpkin pie, elegant eggplant, and summer sun. The image was colored with my Bic Mark-Its, and the sparkle was added with Stickles (Stardust and holly green). Both the spider and the sentiment were pop dotted so they stick up a bit from the card.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy Stampin N Scrappin, everyone!!

JessicaLynn's Sheepdog & I think I have fallin' for Paper Pretties

What a cute sheepdog this guy is guarding his sheep. I don't know if the sheep is scared he is there or scared of something else and hiding behind his protector, but those big eyes sure make him/her look SWEET. I thought they would look perfect behind this fence with some pumpkins and leafy paper. The English sheep dog and sheep were colored with prisma color pencils, gamsoled, and framed with the black frame. Then the fence was paper pieced on top. The pumpkins were stamped on orange cs, shaded with my Bic Mark-Its, and then layered over one another as well. The tag was premade, trimmed a little smaller to fit, then adhered to the card. The cute little button was handmade by stamping the pumpkin onto shrink plastic, coloring with the Bic Mark-Its, then punched out and heated to get it to shrink. Old olive was also sponged around the bottom of the card under and behind the fence to add depth as well.

Oooh, I think I have fallen in love with Paper Pretties!! I just can't get enough of them. I joined Christie's stamp of the month club, and I had to order a few. Then after I got those ones I had to order a few more. Oooh, how I wish she lived closer, because the wait is just TOO long for these little cuties.

I had emailed Christie about my stamp of the month, and then I told her that I really wanted the Fallin' for You stamp but she was all out. She showed me the link where I could get one w/o the EZ-mount, and I was THERE BABY!! :D HA I had some EZ-mount here at home, put this sweet little gal on it, and got her inky. I colored her with prismacolor pencils, gamsoled, and then decided I wanted blue and green in the background. This was achieved by a technique that Michelle Zindorf uses a lot -- I used the versamarked marker on her (have to do this quickly and light spots first or wipe your marker off on scratch paper every time you change colors, as it will pick up the color and smear on you), then clear emboss it. It makes it nice and shiny. I just love the feel of the clear embossing anyway . . . then you can sponge over it, and it will not ruin your image. I loved all of the leaves in the image, but I really wanted more leaves, so I got out my Happy Fall Y'all set (ya know I reach for this set often especially if I want some extra leaves or that cute little pumpkin). The leafy border was perfect. I stamped it on some scraps of summer sun, really rust, ruby red, and a shade of green. Then I trimmed those little buggers out. I know, I know, they are tiny, but I really think the effort was worth it! I glued a pile on the bottom edge of the image, and also decided on adding them to the border on the bottom. I also wanted more of my embossed piece to show from under the image, so I slid her up a bit and created a tent topper card(?) instead. The embossed piece is the cuttlebug folder birds and swirls.

Like that tag above says, Happy Fall, Y'All! I hope you are all having a great time this season. My hubby and I are getting out for more and more walks now that it is cooler to do so. The leaves are beautiful, and the crispness of the air is nice, too. And when you are not outdoors, happy Stampin N Scrappin everyone!

Alpaca Farm Days, new website and BLOG CANDY!!

Thank you SO much to Tina Jewel, I am able to show this post at the top of my blog until the drawing date of Monday, Oct 13th!! So hurry and get your comment in for a chance to win.
The picture of the goodies is at the end of this post!
To see more recent posts, please scroll down. :) Kelly
Well, I told you I would have some pics from the weekend (Open Farm Day at Heaven's Gate Alpacas). Although it was a real washout, we did have 9 people stop on Saturday between showers, and I have a few photos to show you.
This is a closeup of Nevaeh before I dried her off a little bit. Wow, was she a little pigpen or what?! LOL Her fleece is usually bright white, but then she rolls and plays in the dust/dirt to keep the flies off her. Well, with the rain, the dirt really showed up, and she looked all muddy. Still cute as a button, but wow, it is amazing how dirty she can get.I also created these stationery sets I mentioned last Thursday to take up with me to possibly sell. I had decided if they didn't sell that I was going to give a set to my mom and the other set I gave to her good friend, Carolyn who also has an alpaca farm in the Woodhull, NY area. There is so much going on that I want to tell you, and I am making this post rather long, but . . . I have opened a web site to help us crafters get things cheaper (some things even very close to wholesale costs), so you should check out my website at http://www.klstampinnscrappin.com/ If you don't see what you are looking for there, shoot me an email at info@klstampinNscrappin.com, and I will see if I can order it in. Today, I received the stamp sets from C.C. Designs for the website, and I ordered a few more that I hadn't seen on her site again today. Oooh, I do love to shop. :)
So since I see my hit counter is over the 10K mark, I would love to celebrate by giving away some blog candy!!!
How about Jack the Handyman set with some manly embellishments?
(sorry about the terrible picture too much reflection and not enough natural light)
  • Handyman Jack set from C.C. Designs
  • 12 screw brads
  • Dad, Hero, respect, strength, and tie buttons by Junkitz
  • Handyman 3D stickers from Jolee's boutique
  • Classic clear stickers of boot treads
  • Baseball 3D stickers from Sandylion
  • Some decorative black mesh from Pixie Press

All of this will be sent to one lucky winner just for commenting here on this post. The winner will be drawn Monday, October 13th!

Heavens Gate Alpacas: Ariel and Sophia

I was alpaca sitting today, and luckily I didn't have to play midwife to Honey and her cria, as she didn't have her baby today. Here is the reason I was assisting on the farm though. I just had to show you the pictures of the little cuties that are the newest additions to my parent's farm. They went to Ohio to pick them up. Aren't they cute?!! :)

More blog candy?

Well, I just have to post about some terrific blog candy from one of Lee's friends, Deb at Sharing My Obsession She is drawing hers on the 18th . . . so hurry! Thanks, Lee, for sharing Deb with me. :) She has a wonderful blog that you just have to go see, oh yeah, and while you are there -- tell her you want to add another comment for me to win her blog candy. *wink* nahh, I guess you would probably want to win it for yourself. It is really, really cute! What was that old saying the kids used to say -- Uber cute?! you betcha!

Then I still have my blog candy up for dibs, but it is WAY down there from Sept 29th. If anyone knows how to keep a post at the top of blogger, please enlighten me. I think I am the only shmuck out there that doesn't already know how to do this. :(
ETA-- Thanks so much to Tina Jewel! I have the blog candy post at the top now. :)

Oh yeah, and look at what I got finished today (only 11 more to go for a swap I am in). They are HM mini calendars. My month is April (and Easter is on my b-day this year). The stamp is Don't Spill the Beans by House Mouse/Stampabilities line.

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Stamping and good luck with the blog candy drawings!! :D

Finally got to stamp

I got to use some of my new stamps the other day, so I thought I would share a couple of photos with you. The first one is for our House Mouse stamp of the month (SOTM) swap in which we all take the monthly image and create a card for everyone in the group. Then we mail them separately to the other 6 members in our group. It is nice to get them all throughout the month instead of one big envelope like other swaps. Kinda spreads out the joy a little. :D In retrospect, I wish I had colored the pie a little darker orange, but I was afraid it would be too bright. Now after I received Eileen's card, I think mine looks more like an egg custard. *rolleyes* But it really smells good. I used some pumpkin pie spice scented candle oil and swiped it on with a Q-tip behind the pumpkin embossed layer. There is also a silk leaf peaking through from behind the image as well. Pumpkin pie ink was sponged around the edges of the HM image, but it is pretty light in the photo to see. The little button on the ribbon was created with shrink plastic and the pumpkin from the SU Happy Fall Y'All set. That same pumpkin was stamped on the inside to carry the theme on through.
The next one was created in a workshop, but I added my new stamp from the Dreams du Jour (French for Daydreams) set, colored it a bit, layered it on a blue piece of cs and then added some liquid pearls to doll it up a bit. I sent this out to a dear friend from our local stampin group. I hope she likes it. Before you go, don't forget to comment on the blog candy post below. It is open for another week. Thanks for stoppin' by! Happy stampin' :)
