Day at the Beach

It's raining and dreary here today (T-storms to be exact), so . . . a Day at the Beach would be GREAT! Well . . . if it weren't raining there too :)

This sweet little image is a Rachelle Anne Miller design from Stampavie that is now on the retiring list. I just couldn't resist ordering some of these sweet images in for the store. Maybe some of you already have them, but I hadn't started collecting any Stampavie images until they were available through Michelle Oatman here in the states. SO glad Heidi organized things with Michelle to get them over here too. :)

Card details: (follow the links to find these items some at my store -- KL Stampin N Scrappin -- others from other terrific stores I use) Lily Day at the Beach stamp colored with my prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, sponged with ballet blue and highlighted with a Signo white gel pen, cs SU and dp from a Lime Rickey paper pack, sand dollar charm from http://www.hannastamps.com/, square brads and sheer ribbon from my collection, "Sending you Sunshine" sentiment from the C.C. Designs Sugarplum sentiment set from http://www.allthatscraps.com/ , Labels One dies, and tiny mosaic embossing folder

Have a GREAT day!! Hugs,

P.S. -- We are currently down to only one Lime Rickey paper pad at KLSNS, but it will be given away to one lucky winner from our PaperCraftPlanet challenge tomorrow morning. You haven't played along? What are you waiting for?! Make a card with Sparkle's wonderful sketch and post over there today for a chance to win. It's free and LOTS of fun. PCP is a lot like SplitcoastStampers with more "freedoms" for us retailers to advertise in a Group setting. I LOVE IT!! :D

Musical Superstar

Do you have a musical superstar in your family?! Well, none of us actually play instruments (professionally anyway), but we all LOVE music here at the Little home. Either way, this Rockin' Out set is perfect for the musical guys or gals in the family.

Actually, our nephew plays the guitar, and he IS quite a monkey. He is all grown up though, and I am not sure he would appreciate a monkey card this year, but . . . I am sure if there were a little money in it he would definitely like it better. *wink* So, hey there big guy, this card just might be for you. :)

I again created another card with the Rockin' Out set from C.C. Designs found at KL SNS as well as some Lime Rickey paper for the bg layers. The center layer with the musical notes was actually a photocopy of a hymnal I have here at home. I thought the notes would work perfectly with the monkey and his guitar. The monkey was colored with Copics and then glittered up with Stickles.

Nothing too fancy on the inside, but I had to incorporate some of the paper from the front inside too. Hope you all have a Rockin' Day!! :) Hugs,

Another Father's Day card

I had so much fun creating the last Father's Day card that I decided to try again this time with mostly rectangular pieces. This time I used my deckled rectangle nestabilities and more brads. The rest of the details are pretty much the same as below with an added piece of BasicGrey dp added in there too.The stamp is from C.C. Designs called Jack the Handyman. I purchased it from Christine at All That Scraps a LONG time ago. I am not sure if she still has this good lookin' guy or not, but he is perfect for the carpenters in my family.

Now let's see . . . who will this one go to? I have to make four total, so don't be surprised if you see him again this week. This card was actually created for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge #11 hosted by Miss Cill. Check it out HERE! You will be glad you did.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a GREAT day!

Father's Day Handy-Dad card

I think I am finally in the zone for making guy cards!! :D hee hee

I created this card for my dad or grandpa, haven't decided yet whom, but I want to make another. This was SO much fun!! I usually struggle with guy cards, but once I had all the goodies and layers picked out, it really came together. I used Sparkle's sketch challenge for this one. Come join us at the challenge for a chance to win a surprise stamp and some BG Lime Rickey Paper!! The inside was computer generated but adapted from a DRS retirement sentiment stamp.

Card details:

Stamps: Jack the Handyman from C.C. Designs

CS: close to cocoa, chocolate chip and creamy caramel SU!

DP: actually fabric from a Michael Miller Memories pack

Tools/embellies: Circle nesties, tiny mosaic CB folder, word window punch, large oval punch, screw brads, and dark brown twill, grey T-shirt swatch of material and denim DP from my stash

Thanks for stopping by!! :D

I received this beautiful award about a month (or so) ago from my dear friend and DT member Kristine Breach at InkSomething and now today I received it again from another dear friend and DT member for KL Stampin N Scrappin, Carolyn Bounds at P.M.S., etc.

I must say that I feel ever so guilty that I hadn't posted it before from Kris, but really that these ladies are so loyal to me and I do not get around to their blogs every day as I should. I do try to make it there every few days though. My new position at work keeps me from doing a lot of the things I love, but I do enjoy my job as well. I hope all of my bloggin' sisters are as understanding as Kris and Carolyn.

Hugs to you all as I pass this along to other blogs and supportive friends whom I enjoy visiting too.
Jessica at Jess' Obsession
Kristine at Ink Something -- right back at ya
Carolyn at P.M.S., etc -- right back at ya girl
Hugs from me to you,

Ugggh, guy cards . . .

Why is it I usually draw a blank when it comes to creating guy cards?! It's like my mojo cringes and says . . . "oh, no, I can't do those!" I love to create cards for my friends and family, but I am always WAY too hard on myself when it comes to creating guy cards. They really aren't all that bad. I usually try not to use ribbon or glitter, but this time . . . well, glitter was needed to add the shimmer for the star and the shiny rockin' guitar!! Woohooo, wouldn't be a true rock star without some shimmer or shine, right?!

So . . . I used Heidi's sketch from a while ago (sorry it took me so long, Heidi) that I told her I would, then I got busy with Mom and Dad's mini scrapbook that I just didn't get a chance to use it. It has been all sketched out and post-it noted (not sure that is a true verb) here on my desk though to use.

Next, I have to try out Sparkle's sketch . . . check it out at PaperCraftPlanet for our June challenge -- link above.
Card details: The rock star monkey and sentiment are from the Rockin Out set and the dp is from BasicGrey LimeRickey (not currently in stock) but you can win the last pack from KLSNS at our group over at PaperCraftPlanet this month.
Thanks for stoppin by!! :)

Gift for Mom and Dad

Good morning! Do you have a hard time deciding what to get your parents for their anniversary? I know I sure do. They have everything, ya know? And if they do tell me they need to get _____ (fill in the blank), the next time I go visit them, they already have it.

So . . . I thought for their anniversary this year, I would try to take them on a little trip down memory lane and still create something pretty that I know my mom will enjoy too! :) (not that Dad doesn't smile from ear to ear when I give them something handmade anyway). I think he is surprised his computer geek daughter does something with her hands other than type -- HA :D

So . . . here is my little creation without the personal photos . . .

Items used: Stampin Up carousel notes, chocolate chip and pretty in pink cs, BG Bittersweet paper pack, SU index tab and photo corner punch, stamps from Magnolia and Stampin Up, Stickles, misc ribbon and embellishments, BG small magnet for closure, and a pretty gem from KristineB for the tab on the front (Thanks, Kris!)

Thanks for stopping by to take a look! Hope you all have a GREAT weekend!

Hugs,
