Spread your Wings and Hop Along with Us

Welcome to KL Stampin N Scrappin's
first Blog Hop!!

The design team is so excited to see what you ladies are going to come up with for our Sparkle themed Blog Hop, and also to share some Sparkly creations of our own. If you are playing along, you have arrived here from Sparkle's blog,
but if not that's okay, you can start back at the beginning HERE.

This sweet little DragonFly Tilda is spreading her wings to take off on a life-long journey out of the roses and into the big, big world just like the young lady that will be receiving this set! I created this sparkling sweetie as a gift for a friend's daughter who just graduated this past June and will be off on her own adventures in the armed service. I know Tilda doesn't look ready for basic training, but she is definitely flying off on an adventure . . . don't ya think?! The sparkly items I used on her are . . . Stickles on her wings and antennae, shimmery ribbon, as well as pretty golden butterflies on the upper right hand side (its so hard to get sparkle to show in a photo, isn' t it?)
The shimmer really shows in the green sheer ribbon though. My inspiration here came from Cheryl's lovely bows and my "basic training" in bow making from when I sold Home Interiors (now don't you laugh). *wink*

Inside the cute Tilda folder are 8 Rose designer paper OSW cards created from the assistance of my dear friend, Luanne! Thanks, Luanne!! These are all Stampin' Up materials from the stamp set to the paper. I do hope Kristen likes them too. They are on their way to sunny South Carolina!

Although I hope she does not have to use this one any time soon, the lacy feel of the edge and the pretty dainty flowers makes this one definitely a favorite (0f mine) from the group.

**Now more details on the hop . . .

If you would like to play the word scramble,
my word for you is "with"
and from here you'll want to make your way over to Jessica's blog.

Reminder: you must leave a comment on the DT blog and ALL the DT member blogs to be eligible for the GRAND SPARKLY prize along with sending the correct phrase to steinrn@yahoo.com with the KLSNS SPARKLES in the subject line
by 9pm Saturday August 8th. (by the way there are 8 total blogs including the DT blog).

We would love for you to join us and make a Sparkly creation of your own - if you post it on your blog with a link to the KLSNS design team blog (leave us a comment there), and we'll enter you again. Plus, who knows what I have up my sleeve, I just might be giving away some other surprise "blog candies" so be sure to leave some luv everywhere! (wink!)
Check out the KL SNS design team blog to see some photos of what you can win!
Thanks for stopping by, good luck,

So, don't forget . . . you won't want to MISS THIS!!

Oh my gosh, when I saw these CUTE animals in the Magnolia pet collection, I was totally drawn to them. I just love their sad little puppy dog eyes, and this monkey looks all cute and fuzzy. I was really torn if I was just going to color and shade him with my prismas, color him with copics or use fun flock on him. I love fun flock but it is hard to get good coverage without taking away from your colors or shades. . . ahh, at last I just decided to color him with my prismacolor pencils and blend with gamsol, touched him up a bit with a Signo white gel pen to add more highlights and layered this little cutie on a pretty floral piece of Lemonade paper.

This little guy will be given to my dear hubby this Wednesday for a very special day, as he has been "monkeyin around with my heart" for the past 19 years. I do hope he loves this monkey as much as I loved creating him. I decorated the inside too but forgot to take a picture *sigh* sorry.

Card details: Monkey and vine stamps from the Magnolia pet collection, Lemonade paper, scalloped die cut from a Basic Grey Do Me a Favor kit (included in some special gifts coming soon), Birds and Swirls folder, old olive and chocolate chip cs, grapevine leaves and curls, pink brad from Lemonade collection, and hemp twine.
Thanks for stoppin by!!

Hugs,

P.S. -- Add the blinkee from the upper right corner to your blog and help us spread the word. :)

Inky sweetness and Birthday Wishes

These adorable images from Inky Impressions are just too sweet for words. I love their big round eyes and the details that make them really come to life. I created this card for my step-grandmother with spring-like colors of gable green, apricot appeal, and pretty in pink. The dp in the background is Two Scoops from BasicGrey, which is sold at KL Stampin N Scrappin. It was colored with both prismacolor pencils and Copic markers. The string actually had Happy Spring on it, so I changed it up a little with a general sentiment that would work for a July birthday.

I sure hope she likes it as much as I do.

*****************

This sweet couple, Milo and Lily, are here to send out Birthday Wishes and have balloons for you too! I am definitely in need of more birthday cards, so here is one of the new birthday cards I created last week. The newly retiring Rachelle Anne Miller Congratulations stamp can be found at KL Stampin N Scrappin!! Colored with prismacolor and gamsol, layered on scalloped rectangles created with Nesites, DP from Two scoops, and Stampin Up card stock (taken with teal, appricot appeal, gable green). This card is 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 inches.

Thanks for stoppin by!! Stop by our KL SNS DT blog for details soon on our BIG giveaway coming soon with a Blog Hop coming up this month!! In the meantime, there is also another challenge (a color challenge this time) going on at PaperCraftPlanet (hosted by me this month). Stop by for a chance to win some great goodies from KL SNS!
