Creativity abounds they say, but... it hasn't been here much.

#1 - The only thing that has been created around here in our spare time is a shed (and that is only half completed after hubby and I had some vacation days together). Don't ya love how the days you have off it decides to rain? Not that we didn't need the rain mind you, but if it would ONLY rain on working days instead OR nights instead of during the day ... Well this year,our lawn is brown, garden is almost nonexistant (mostly my fault for not watering) ... Etc

#2 - I recently moved my office and creative space to the basement, so all the creative mojo has been packed away (maybe still) I guess. I am still trying to find some things I "put in a safe place, so I would not lose them and REMEMBER where they were" HA anyone else do this besides me, my mom and my grandma? Lol

So, here is a little something I found time to put together today (about 10 min or so), but I want to start a small scrapbook of photos from graduation day and hopefully our college visit for my son and his girlfriend. That's where we were the last two days, and hopefully I will get some good photos tomorrow too since our schedules won't be so hectic tomorrow with "things to do" They start their courses on Monday -- Yay! They are both excited and a little nervous, but I am hopeful that everything will go well for them both!

Here's what I made today ...

Just tried to keep it quick and simple with a piece I had already started, and I wanted the main point to focus on the photo and not the extra goodies around the page. The pinks and oranges aren't my favorite colors together, but adding the green seemed to please the eye a little bit more. Let me know, whatcha think!! :)

Shoe Box Kits at My Neighbors!!

Hey there, everyone! I wasn't quite sure what to title this one, and I wasn't quite sure what we called our little get together, but BOY was it fun to get together with the girls and stamp and fold and glue and all that fun stuff! :)

We created 8 cards all together and a couple of cool 3D items. Here are some pictures. I wish I had taken my camera and got some smiling faces, too. I had planned on doing that, but ... well long story short, I ran out of time that morning and was running late for our 1:30 start time.

So, here is a little inspiration for you ...

This was a pretty, sparkly card created by Athena for us to put together using a great embossing folder of roses and the SU bird punch and a scalloped velum piece in behind the bird. So pretty. My rhinestone didn't photograph very well (the bird's eye) though.

Helen's Snowmen .. love how she used the scalloped piece for the snow, and the circle in behind them make it look like a snowglobe. I colored quickly, so I will have to touch that up with the aqua painter before I send it out for sure! :)

Kathy's BeeHive card ... this was so cute! She had us emboss the black part and then watercolor it, but the really cool parts were bubble wrap stamping on the background (looked like a honeycomb) and a piece of black plastic foam that worked well to add some dots and textured look behind the beehive.

These guys are so dog-gone cute, I may have to order this set. :)

Luanne added a touch of class with a pretty embossing folder that created a framework around the focal point (Nesties label 8? I think) with flowers, pearls, brads and some punched leaves.

This is MaryLou's pretty flower card. I just love the looks of red and light blue together. My friend, Jessica uses these colors together and whenever I see them, I think of her. So pretty! Another great cuttlebug folder that made a framework of swirls around the focal image (SU flower not sure the name).

I think I need to add a big ribbon and fluffy bow across the top of this to finish it off. :)

Sue used this really great technique in which you press your parts onto the card with the embossing folder (can't remember what it was called now - dang), and unfotunately the color is a little fuzzy, but that new medallion-type stamp is GORGEOUS! I need to get my mini back out and find out the name, cause I really love the looks of this stamp, simply elegant!

Paula came with all kinds of goodies (forgot to take a photo of the Chinese takeout boxes), but I did get

a photo of these cute little purses, and they open up for a great place to tuck a little girls party invitation, bridal shower invite, or photos of your family. So many fun ideas we thought of with these.

This was the card I created ... Scalloped hearts by Spellbinders Nestabilities dies, cuttlebug corner embossing folder for the center of the white one, CraftySecrets Clear Art Stamps Cherub set was used for the flourish behind the heart, the small heart and the Love sentiment. Since I created my card on a base of black cs, I added a layer of white printer paper inside for the area for the sentiment

and stamped a little "love" in there too.

Luanne gave us all this sweet little Thank You gift created with the medallion stamp. Every time I see this, I really think I need to add it to my "to get list." The card was tucked in a nice clear envelope and the top embellished with a cuttlebugged Top Note piece. Isn't it pretty?! I hated to open it.

Hey there, everyone! I got some more cards started this weekend that I didn't stuff in envelopes right away and send to the mailbox (have been doing that lately as I am running a bit behind). I started out making this first card for our pastor, as her father passed on this week. I really am not good at making sympathy cards. I stressed out over making the perfect card, but then once I got in the zone, I thought why not make a few so I have some on hand ...

Well dear friends and readers, I have been so busy that my blog title is definitely coming into play again in my busy life ... "Wishin I was stampin" I have been crazy busy with work, and last week Mom and I went to an the Empire Alpaca Show in Syracuse, NY. Now tomorrow afternoon I will be leaving for a week in Atlanta, GA. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. First time on a plane, then a train and probably a cab at least the morning I have to be at the airport at 6 a.m. (because the train doesn't leave that early) uggh what was I thinking booking that early in the morning? lol

So ... last week I found a little "me time" and made a couple of Christmas cards. They aren't jaw-dropping gorgeous, but I think they are pretty and will be a nice addition to my other umm ... 10 cards out of the 90 I will probably need. Oh geez, I need to make LOTS more. lol

They were both created from card kits I have collected from swaps. This one has a sweet Maggie image with bell and lots of lovely strings of pearls and pretty matching ribbon. I went with more of a vintage look and distressed the edges and the background of the image a bit.

This one is a great Santa image, not sure who makes him, but it was fun to color. I loved the sparkly stars on this paper and the pretty white and gold ribbon matched so well. I wanted to make a bow but it wasn't cooperating, so a bit of a fake bow wrapped in a star brad worked perfectly.

Hey there, readers! We are having a blog hop for one of my sweet, artistic friends, Deb Corder from Freckle Face Printworks. The blog hop started at Joanna's blog, so if you didn't start there, please go back to see them all (now eight of us in total).

This cute little cupcake mouse is from a set from Cornish Heritage Farms, and I couldn't help using lots of color to make this a Cheery Birthday Card! It was colored with prismacolor pencils mostly with a touch of a sand #33 Copic on the mouse. He is one cute little mouse, isn't he?! Sorry for the fuzzy pictures, lack of lighting I guess.

I enjoyed using all the pretty half pearls, can't seem to keep my hands off those embellishments,

especially when I am making a girl card.

I also used another mouse image on the inside for the sentiment.

Well, my mojo has flown south already, I think. It has been a long time since I created a card just for fun. I thought I would sit down and play a little the other night when I saw a great LO from one of the paper craft magazines, can't remember the exact name, but it was on FB and my old high school buddy and good friend, Jen Ziegler had MANY creations published in there. She is a digital guru. If only I knew half of what she does about digital scrapbooking ... I just need to sit down and take some time to learn it (maybe my next vacation). lol -- yea right! *wink*

Okay, so I have LOTS of photos of my son that still need to be scrapped, so here is my scrapbooking creations (wow, how do you ladies get a good picture of these 12 x 12 pages?!). Not very good, but you can see the LO, I guess. There are 2 side panels and then the two horizontal ones transferred over to the other page. Some rounded edges, which I mostly covered up, and I had to change my photo layout around a bit, but I think it looks "okay." No masterpiece, but ... okay :)

KLSNS36 - Jodi's Sketch Challenge

Hey there, readers! It's Saturday already again . . .
boy where does the week go?! I have been so busy it's crazy, so I guess that is why it flew by so fast. I am glad it's closer to my Sunday off though :) and we are expecting 3 new crias on my parents' farm this weekend, so I am hoping and praying I will get to see a healthy, bouncing cria birth (fingers crossed they are girls).

Well, since it is Saturday, do you know what that means at KL Stampin N Scrappin's DT blog? Yep, another GREAT challenge!! :) Fun, fun with Jodi this week as she challenges us all to take a look at her sketch and give it a try. Stop by the DT blog to see it.

Here is my card for the sketch . . .

This is a new stamp that is now carried in the KL Stampin N Scrappin store from C. C. Designs SweetNovember Mermaid series called Pearl Tidepool and Seamoor. It was colored with Copics, accented with white gel pen and sparkled a bit with Stickles. The cardstock is Stampin Up's razzleberry, cameo coral, baja breeze and a touch of yellow/apricot if you will for accents (I had seen this color combo a while back at SCS but had not been able to participate w/o having the cs on hand). Well, now that I have it, I just had to try it out. I couldn't seem to work in all the colors into this sketch by layer, but I did add them with the yellow flowers and baubles as accents. The colors aren't usually ones I would reach for, but I truly love these colors together, so I will probably give this color combo a try again soon!! Now, if only my panels were all the same size. Guess I had them off a little bit when I cut them. : ( Geez.

Another Saturday . . . another challenge at KL Stampin N Scrappin! :)

Debbie M has challenged us all to "Get Shabby!!'
And we just cannot wait to see what you all come up with!
I really liked this challenge but wasn't sure I was getting shabby enough. I wanted to
pile on the goodies like Debbie did after seeing her sweet shabby card. LOL

But, I kept mine a little bit CAS I guess with a pretty big image on a regular A2 sized card.
Thinking now I should gone bigger, but it has been a busy week with a couple more
Father's Day cards and a birthday card to finish out the day, so . . .
well, this was about a 30 minute card as it was. :)

The Deets/Blah-Blah: The papers are really close to the colors

in BasicGrey's Lemonade, but they have butterflies on it

and some vibrant pink, so I thought the sweet Sarah Kay image

would look good in pink and yellow layerd on a piece of the gray from

Stampin Up. I inked the edges with white to shabby them up a litttle and the paper is roughed

up a bit, but it isn't all that noticeable in the photo. The image itself was colored with prisma colors and gamsol except for the flowers, skin and shirt, which were colored with Copics.

Most of the items were from my Secret Sister card kit (thank you SS if you are reading)!! :)

And the adorable image is from Sarah Kay

(not available in the store, but there are others like her there).

Isn't she sweet?! I may have to find this one. :)

And . . those lovely crocheted flowers are so very soft and delicate! These ones aren't from my store,

but I do sell some that are similar. These are so pretty with the added pearl and pretty pink coloring.

Shape Challenge by Candace (KL SNS33)

There's a new challenge posted at KL Stampin N Scrappin in which Candace has challenged us to use any shape besides a square or rectangle. I was late getting my card finished in time for last Saturday, but I finished it last evening, so here I am with my apple-y creation. It isn't a card per se, as I want to use it with a scrapbooking projected for some school photos I have been saving a while. I see apples, I think of teachers and school and all the fun things that go with it like good times with friends. :) and of course the whole time I was making this card the song "School's Out for Summer" was running through my head. lol

Anyway, on to the card/scrapbooking start . . .

I actually remembered I had some of these dye cut apples already in my stash that I think are really cool for school projects or scrapbooking school photos. I plan on using this one with my old graduation photos from business school. :) I used Contented Mudpie again and some 3D graduation stickers from Jolee for a rather quick card. The DP is from Basic Grey Nook and Pantry, which I totally love and cannot get enough of!! : ) I hope you have some time to get creative this week and give your shape challenge a try!

Woohoo, hey there, readers!!

This week has gone by so fast. I have been busy with work and once in a while get to check out my garden and see if anything is growing out there. : ) Well, that got me thinking about a "May Flowers challenge" for us to try out this week at KL Stampin N Scrappin. So part of the challenge is flowers and the other part a sketch I made. Note: You can flip the sketch on its side too (I guess I should have made my card first then came up with the sketch because I ended up turning it myself). lol

As usual, you don't have to use items from the KL Stampin N Scrappin store, but if you have them, we would love to see what you create with them. Also, you can combine our challenge with other challenges out there, and the Top Three Blinkies are up for grabs as well as . . . "some surprise items"

Eighteen years and counting

Well, it has been 18 years and counting for my parent's anniversary. Yes, he's my stepfather, but not too many people realize that. I was often told how much I looked like him when I was younger (and still have similar tastes in some things and freckled feet like he does, wierd huh?). Well, they definitely have come a long way, and this is one of my favorite photos of them.

So, I stressed for quite a while on Saturday about what stamp should I use for their card and would I have time to make one before I had to leave at 6 p.m. to go up to their farm for shearing day (that was Sunday, hence the alpaca photos below). Then I looked through the SCS gallery and found some inspiration but still couldn' t decide on the perfect image to go along with it, so . . .

I ended up not using an image at all. I used the d'vine swirls folder for the Bermuda Bay cs and then Textile folder on the white piece. I then sponged Taken with Teal on that piece to color it a little and make the embossing folder part show up. Then I used my Flourishes sentiment stamp set for the Your Anniversary part cut out of a piece with one of the ribbon tag trio dies, and added some Prima ivory roses and half pearls. My parents both liked it and the pretty poems I added to the inside (with thanks again to the authors of the Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card).

An Animal-Riffic Challenge is going on!

Wow. . . the weeks are really flyin' by lately, dontcha think? Or maybe it's just me . . . *sigh* my Gram told me they would get shorter as I got older . . . (miss you Gram), and you know, she was RIGHT! lol

Anyway, before I get too mushy, there is another GREAT challenge going on over at KL Stampin N Scrappin's Design Team blog . . . Our hostess, Risa, has challenged us all to incorporate animals into our creations this week, and there are sure a lot of those at the KL Stampin N Scrappin Store. I had a hard time choosing which one I wanted to use. lol

Finally decided on a cute image we carry in the store from Stampavie and designed by Penny Johnson (sorry I covered up the signature on the image with my sentiment, Penny). It's called Bobby and Me, colored with Copics and prismacolor pencils for the red especially (can't seem to get the hang of red with my Copics yet). For those of you from my generation or my mother's, every time I use this stamp I think of the old song Me and Bobby McGee, but it's a good tune though, right? LOL

I also was at a loss for what sketch to use, so I headed to my favorite on-line gallery

for us stampers (SplitCoastStampers)

and found Roxie's SC279 would fit the bill perfectly! :)

Then I pulled out some BasicGrey JuneBug and Lime Rickey

(I usually head for Lime Rickey when it comes to boy type images,

not sure why, but it always looks good).

I added a little hemp cording, a dog bone charm, button and pulled out

a GREAT sentiment set from C.C. Designs

called SugarPlum Sentiments

(not carried in the store anymore, but you may

still find it at AllThatScraps.com from Christine).

Seam Binding Goodness

The embellishments on this card were created for today's "Stampin N Scrappin' with Kelly" tutorial on our design team blog. I just couldn't let that half finished card sit here any longer, so quickly added a digi image from Motivet that I had colored previously, a terrific pink punched layer to accent from my dear friend Lena (aka TackerTwosome) and the stamp "you're on my mind" to finish it off.

There is a challenge coming up this Saturday again on KL Stampin N Scrappin, and although I can't "let the cat out of the bag" on the challenge requirements -- lets just say -- this card would qualify for that too. *wink* Stop on by and check out our challenges. They are mostly just for fun, but sometimes we throw in a prize or two. :)

When commenting on some other blogs, I saw my card also qualifies for the Going Grey #10 Animal Challenge (as I used the Motivet kitty and Lemonade BG). Thanks for letting me play along too, ladies! :)

Stampin' with Kelly this week at KL SNS DT blog

Well, it's more like embellishin' with Kelly this week
(since there isn'tany stampin' involved) . . .

I have a couple of ideas for creating flowers and some ideas on how to use the new shabby vintage seam binding that will soon be available at KL Stampin N Scrappin.
So stick around and check out the photos below. . .

I hope you find them interesting, too.

#1 -- For pinwheel flowers, I started with 2 different strips of Lemonade paper

from Basic Grey 6 x 2 inches, then used decorative

scissors for the sides (scallops, pinking scissors, etc).

Fan fold the paper and pinch the sides in (see 2 photos below).

I used 3M double sticky tape to hold the sides together.

Lastly, embellish them with ribbon, hemp or twine and buttons

#2 -- For pleated ribbon/seam binding (in this case).

Starting with a somewhat blank canvas.

You can actually just use the 3M tape and put a strip across,

then fold the seam binding back and forth so you get a pleated look, or . .

in this case, I used a little hand stitching, folding the seam binding back and forth

and handsewing through the pleats, then pull it tight for more puckering

or loose for less puckering and more layers.

Adhere to your card with double sticky 3M tape or glue dots.

#3 -- For ribbon roses using seam binding . . .

Start with a 1-inch circle punched from card stock or chipboard,

use double sticky tape on the front and then a little around the edges on the

back to tuck in the fabric/seam binding. Twisting and rolling the

seam binding while circling around the center. Go around the edges to hide the

chipboard/card stock. Then tape the loose end down to the back.

Add a button to the center if you wish and punched leaves

or create your own with an oval punch and trim to a point.

Card Challenge at KL SNS this week!!

Hello there, Readers and Friends!

We are having another GREAT challenge over at KL Stampin N Scrappin's design team blog!! This week Jodi has challenged us to a card recipe (1 ribbon, 2 designer papers, and 3 embellishments). I am hoping mine qualifies although I have three flowers and added a charm. : ( Maybe we can count the two yellow flowers as the same embellishment just separated *wink*) lol

This little sweetie is Puppy Kiki currently available at KL Stampin N Scrappin from C. C. Designs. I colored her with my Copics and then paper pieced the dress with some papers from Nook and Pantry by Basic Grey. The teal plaid pattern in the background is from Nook and Pantry too.

The ribbon and yellow cs are so saffron from Stampin Up.

DON'T LOOK MOM!! It's supposed to be a surprise

Well, I am really hoping my mom doesn't read my blog this week. We are all pretty busy this weekend with family and a funeral, so she probably won't be on the computer much. Then next weekend, we are shearing the alpacas, so . . . I am hoping she is getting ready for that and doesn't have time to see my blog or Facebook to catch a peek at her card. (Psst, if you are still reading, Mom, you will spoil the surprise).

So since it is late, and without further ado . . . There is a GREAT challenge going on over at the
KL Stampin N Scrappin DT blog that you just have to go check out! :) It's called an Inside-Out challenge.

The sentiment stamps are both from Stampin Up as well as the chocolate chip and close to cocoa cs.

Believe it or not, this Lucy and Kitty image was going to go on the front until I realized how much of that pretty seam binding I was going to cover up. I had pleated it and got it just the way I wanted it,

so there was no way I was going to cover it all up!!

So . . . Inside they went. lol

It was hard to get a full picture of the inside of the card, so I took it outside against the purple flox.

I know they aren't the right shade of pink, but they made a nice easel in the bright sunlight.. :)

The bright light kinda washed out the colors in this image, it is very rich in color in real life. I really liked the look of using the Fiskars heart border punch just on the curved edges of the nestabilities pieces too. It was a bit tricky holding them just right, but I love the look. Then sponged the edges with chocolate chip and doodled on some white to add some movement to it. Stitching would have looked nice here too.

This lovely poem was from a book I have called the Ultimate Guide to the Perfect Card

(found it at my son's school book fair quite a few years back).

Item/Tools Details: I used quite a few items from the store this week from the Label One nestabilities dies, Nook and Pantry BasicGrey paper, Signo white gel pen, some Rhonna buttons and Copics. Then I also crocheted my own flowers (yes I do know how but am a bit out of practice), and some lovely dyed seam binding from our newest DT member, Debbie's Etsy shop. I hope to be adding both of these items to the store soon in various colors, so let me know what ya think.

Color Challenge on KL Stampin N Scrappin

Hey there, readers! There is a color challenge going on this week on KL Stampin N Scrappin's DT blog in continued celebration of Earth Day this month! Joanna has challenged us to use green, brown and neutral colors. Although this may sound like an easy challenge for most of us, I hesitated on this one for a while. You could say that I was a bit out of my color chart comfort zone. I usually use pinks with my greens, ya see, so green and brown was a bit of a stretch. lol

Well, after looking through some of my BasicGrey paper, I found some lovely greens and browns in the Nook and Pantry paper pad that were perfect for this challenge. Next, I wanted to showcase some of those cute C. C. Designs stamps that I got in for the store last month, and the Spring kit was just sitting there calling my name. lol : ) This set is terrific with 9 "people stamps"(one is a couple), 2 accessories stamps (swing and a tree stump) and up to 19 different sentiments that are perfect to compliment the images.

I colored the cute image of Rainy Day Emma with my Copics and my white Signo gel pen. I tried to stay with the green, brown and neutral theme, so I tried my hand at black hair again. I think I am getting better at black hair but am still unsure if she looks too gray. What do you think? Honestly? I think a little more practice or a little more black might have helped. Either way, I guess she could be a little lady instead of a child. *wink*

Edited: Okay, after I typed up this post, I darkened up the hair on Emma a little bit, what do you think now? :) I like it better.

I used the Cakes bitsy stamp set from BasicGrey

and matching Nook and Pantry paper paired with

some SU items -- Razzleberry dp,

pomegranate and yo-yo yellow cs and rose red 1 inch ribbon.

The clear rhinestones don't shine as beautifully in the photo,

but believe me they do in real life. I used some of the same papers

on the inside to match and used the sentiment from this same stamp set

that I just had to share with you, too. :)

I think some of my friends would get a chuckle out of

this sentiment, so I just had to add the "Another Birthday?!" part too.

Glitter Puzzle Tutorial for KL SNS

Hey there, Readers and friends!

I am here to share with you a tutorial

for the glitter puzzle technique that I originally found on SCS.

Mine is made a little bit different from theirs, so I hope it inspires you to give it a try.

First, you choose your shape. In this case, I chose a large octagon nestabilities die.

Cut two pieces, one out of card stock and one from acetate. I folded my acetate over a little to make a small tag to put under the glittery piece when I adhere it.

Then add sticky tape to the back of the die cut. In my case, I used

my Xyron for that, but any sticky adhesive like 3M tape would work.

Then trim the pieces into whatever shapes you want for your different glitter pieces.

Choose at least 2 different colors of glitter and sprinkle on the pieces.

I used the deep red glass glitter (btw, although made from glass its fine and not sharp at all)

from KL SNS and a white glitter I have had for quite a long time.

You may have to touch it up a little bit after you piece it back together.

I had a few spots from where I had touched it, so I used some monoadhesive

glue to add to it. Then I layered it onto a scalloped octagon shape.

Then match up the acetate sheet so you knew where to stamp the

sentiment or image you want to place over top.

Then put the acetate piece off to the side and stamp it.

You can slip the tag part under the shape and adhere it down or

use brads to fasten it down over top of the glitter puzzle piece.

Then decorate the rest as you desire. You can see others at SCS found here.

Note you can also use this to create a scenery behind an image, too.

Card Details: Cupcake Kiki, Studio G sentiment and tiny cupcake, Octagon nesties, 3M tape double sticky tape, deep glass glitter , Nook and Pantry paper, white cs, barely banana cs, white gel pen, prismacolor pencils and Gamsol, acetate and organdy ribbon

Hope I inspired you to give it a try, come on . . . grab the glitter and give it a go! : )

Note: Cleaning up the extra glitter is a real breeze using an old (or new) dryer sheet.

Organic Challenge from KL SNS

Hello, Readers!

This weeks challenge at KL Stampin N Scrappin is hosted by

Kathy Walker, and she has challenged us all to find something organic to use on our cards

in honor of Earth Day! :)

So, go outdoors, take a walk, and see what you can find to use on your cards.

You have until Friday, April 16th at midnight.

You must leave your link on the DT blog to participate.

I used Bobby & Me (a new image created by Penny Johnson for Stampavie), Lime Rickey BG paper,

and my organic items are a "fetching" twig created from a grape vine and hemp cord.

Tip: If you store your unmounted stamps in something

other than the original packaging (for example, I use CD cases),

you can trim the acetate sheet for use as a blank

(shown in the background stuck to the stamp)

to place over your image when sponging color around your image,

then just wipe it off with a baby wipe for use again next time.

For the inside, I used the stamp
"Wooden This Be Nice - Little Boys" but

for this card, I just had to squeeze in the word "such."
This is such a cute stamp (love that font on the word BOYS),
and it would also work great with scrapbook pages, too!

Last detail, I used Lime Rickey to coordinate with the papers on the front.

Happy Birthday, Cody!!

I had a tough time getting a good picture of this card today, and the inside has a cute image too,

but unfortunately both of them I had taken were blurry (so since it is just after midnight I will have to update another time with the inside photo). This is a digital image called Video Boy from Mo's Digital Pencil Shop. I saw it on someone's blog or photo gallery at SCS, and instantly knew this had to be on my son's card.

although he has given up the remote control video games for PC ones, the image does look familiar. LOL

I kept it CAS since it is for a young man who isn't into ribbony, frilly things,

plus I just couldn't bring myself to distract from that GREAT image too much anyway.

Inside has an image of a little boy in a car (Zoom), which I felt would be perfect too, reminds me of the days when he used to ride around in his little red Jeep Wrangler.

Other card details:

CS: Night of Navy cs, Lime Rickey BasicGrey paper

Ink: Memento tuxedo black ink and ballet blue ink sponged around image

Tools: octagon nestabilities, Copics, prismacolor pencils, gamsol

Easter Boxes and Baskets for the KL SNS Challenge #23

Kristine challenged us this week to create a box of some sort, so with Easter right around the corner, I couldn't resist trying my hand at a cute little Easter basket (now I need some goodies to put in there). I have been trying to eat healthier and get in shape, so Hershey's Kisses or Reese's PB cups aren't in the house!! yet anyway *wink*

I was just dying to get my hands in that little packet of mini rose primas (shared a few with a customer this week too, so the packet is looking a bit empty in the photo). :)

Anyway . . . I used some of the green mini rose primas with a pale yellow ribbon (close match to the Barely Banana cs, I think), Lemonade BasicGrey paper and my Martha Stewart doily punch to "girlie" it up a little. The tutorial can be found HERE at SCS for the basket.

The stamp used here is from C. C. Designs and is called SweetNovember Baby Bunny with Egg.

It was colored with the Copics shown below as well as highlighted with the Signo white gel pen also available at KL Stampin N Scrappin. There is a little sparkle added to the egg with a Sakura gel pen but of course it doesn't show well in the photo.

Last but definitely not least . . . My good friend, Luanne created these sweet bunny and chick boxes after looking at this Bunny Box Tutorial from Marie They were created with the Top Note Die from SU and paper punches. I hope to try mine this weekend with my scalloped circle nesties and ovals since I don't have all of the punches. But really . . . aren't they cute?!

National Quilting Day -- KL SNS Challenge

Jodi came up with a terrific challenge for KL Stampin N Scrappin this week! She wants us to combine it with National Quilt Day, so what a better way to celebrate than to combine stitching and flowers with our challenge, too?!

I used the Puppy Love stamp, Sugared BG paper, white gel pen and Nestabilities all from KL Stampin N Scrappin store! I zig-zag stitched the DP to the other layers at the bottom with my Janome Mini and used faux stitching around the Labels One layer behind the image, paper pieced the bonnet and dress from the same Sugared floral piece, colored some with prismacolor pencils and gamsol, then added the ribbon, a half pearl, some liquid pearls and the ribbon rose accent to finish it off. The key in the puppies mouth is colored with a metallic yellow although not so noticeable in the photo :(

I created a couple of Christmas cards using the stamp His Love for Ewe, some BasicGrey designer paper, ribbon and buttons. The images are colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol then cut out and layered over the DP. They were very quick and easy, not so many layers, though, as I was trying to keep them a little more simple for shipping purposes.

Challenge 20 "Button Down the Hatches" with KL SNS

Hey, it's . . . Saturday!! And Joanna is our hostess for this week!!

Joanna says -- Remember the old phrase, "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?" So . . . she wants us to "Button Down The Hatches 'cuz Winter is not quite done yet."

Your challenge is to use buttons on your card. Anywhere!

Although you are welcome to use ANY stamps that you own, we also want to remind you that KL Stampin N' Scrappin carries a variety of stamps from several fabulous stamp companies (BasicGrey, C.C. Designs, High Hopes, Stampavie, DRS and some Magnolias).

So, using this challenge I created one of my March birthday cards. I seem to know a lot of people who have birthdays in March including my husband, mother and son,

so believe me -- it is a busy time of year!!

I used one of the new High Hopes stamps created by Dustin Pike called Cherry Chip Chimp, colored with Copics, layered on the largest standard circle nestabilities dies and one of the label three dies. Then the DP in the background is Lime Rickey and JuneBug (since I was going for some bright colors). I really think this made a fun card with the bright cheery colors! :)

I continued the same pattern on the inside with matching pieces and couldn't resist making my own cherry accent with a couple of dark pink buttons and a piece of hemp cording colored dark green to look like a stem. The sentiment is Cherry on Top that matches the Chimp image from the front and a Happy Birthday sentiment from a Studio G set.

Sugared Motivet Kitty

Ya know, even though I have my own store in which I sell quite a few different stamp lines and goodies, there are just times when I want to play with somebody else's stuff. LOL Maybe that is the "spoiled brat" in me. (insert big cheesy grin)

I was blog hopping a little bit today and came upon some great stamp companies that I would love to add to the store (if only I had all the money in the world to add everything I LOVE). Anyway . . . these stamps from Motivet are definitely at the top of my "gotta have" list. They are giving away some goodies this week like they do most weeks I see, and this cute kitty is currently a free digi download too. So, since I don't have any Motivet stamps yet, I decided to give it a try with the cutie putie kitty.
Now who could be mad at this cute little face for tearing out a flower? Not me.

I colored her with my Copics, layered her on some Sugared BasicGrey paper and added some primas and those pretty starburst bead spacers to accent. The swirl is a piece of chipboard from my stash colored with a matching Copic from the image and covered with crystal effects to brighten it up a bit.

Copics used: C1, C3, C5, C7, E15, E33, R11, R20, YG09, G24

Pearly Thoughts of Sorrow

I was told today that a dear friend of our family has lost her mother,

and I wanted to send the family a sympathy card to let them know we are thinking of them.

These are usually the most difficult cards for me to make, because I always want it to be soft, peaceful and soothing to the recipients; and I am always afraid that I won't achieve that. This Thoughts and Prayers set from Stampin Up is always a "go to" stamp set for this type of card for me though, and paired with the pretty pearls I figure it softened the look just a little bit.

I hope the family enjoys it too and knows how much they mean to us all.

Yep, another challenge at KL Stampin N Scrappin's DT blog.

It's KL SNS #19 -- Risa's Sketch Challenge

This week, Risa has challenged us to use this sketch, and there is a prize up for grabs as well! The winner will get 2 Magnolia stamps, some Magnolia card kits, glitter, chipboard and some other embellishments. Stop by the KL Stampin N Scrappin blog to see a photo! :)

Here is my creation for this challenge using one of the new stamps at KL SNS -- SweetNovember Baby Bunny Tulip , blush blossom and apricot appeal cs, some bunny DP from my stash, porcelain BasicGrey DP, miscellaneous varigated organdy ribbon, some fake snow for a fluffy tail and three pink bunny brads.

Note: The Copics I used were

E000, E00, 0, Y11, Y21, Y23, R20, R22, R29, YG09 and G24.

Here's a closeup to show you the layers, popped up sections of the image and the fluffy tail on my little Baby Bunny. Unfortunately the colors bled a little around his legs. : ( ah well, you can't win them all, right?!

Hello there, Stampin' N Scrappin' crafters!!

There is a new challenge going on at KL Stampin N Scrappin design team blog

this week, and it is hosted by ME . . . Kelly!!

It's the "anything you would have/should have thrown out but didn't challenge!!" LOL

Okay, okay, I know that's a little bit long, so let's just call it the

Go Green Challenge!

I challenge you to create a card or altered item using something you might have thrown out before you became a crafter! Easy, right?! :)

Some ideas to get you going, you say? . . . how about

boxes, bows, soda tabs, bottle caps, pins, tags, etc.

Above is my card using the top piece off of a Kleenex box, because it was just too dog-gone pretty to throw away, and the Brushed Daffodil stamp from DRS Designs

(which are new to the KL SNS store)

My second card above was created by working around a Bit and Bridle tag, which came off of my husband's dress shirt I purchased last year at the Tractor Supply Store. I loved the western feel of the tag and the distressed look, so I kept it for a guy card "some day;" and I finally got to use it!! The stamps are the Bareback set from SU.

Note: It also qualifies for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge with all this distressing going on.

Their challenge is called "Do the Mess Around." : )

The KL SNS deadline is Friday, February 26th at 12 midnight EST.

The prize? There will be blinky awards for the Top 3 best cards,

and one lucky winner will be drawn for a surprise gift from ME. Wooot wooott!!

So go rummage through your "saved" items to alter

Red, White and Black Challenge from KL SNS

Another challenge from KL Stampin N Scrappin DT is going on this morning in which all you have to do is use red, white and black colors in your creation. You don't have to use stamps or items sold at KL Stampin N Scrappin, but . . . if you have them we would love to see what you create with them.

Here is my creation (wow, I need practice with my Copics
especially coloring red or black hair *sigh*). This sweet little Emma holding a balloon is from the Sugarplums Party set created by C. C. Designs and also available at KL Stampin N Scrappin.

I am not thrilled with my card this week, but there is a LOT of beautiful inspiration on the DT blog that you really should check out! :)

KL SNS Challenge #16 "Poppin Up!"

Hey there, friends!! We are up to Challenge #16 over at KL Stampin N Scrappin's blog where the lovely Kristine has challenged us all to use a technique called Paper Tole. Well, I must say I had seen this before but didn't know the name. I first stamped the Baby Shower image 3 different times in which I paper peiced the baby's diaper and umbrella from the same piece of Sugar Rush paper, which I actually thought was more yellow than peachy colored until I placed it on top of the Barely Banana cs (Ooops . . . have I ever mentioned that I am color blind?! Yep, I am . . . SERIOUSLY. So if you see something odd, please tell me. I accept it as a handicap, but I refuse to give up my crafting. It just depends on what lighting it is in if I can figure it out or not). Then I stamped that little cutie on 2 pieces of whisper white so I could color him with my Copics. The oval was layered onto the scalloped oval (another piece of Sugar Rush paper) and popped up to keep the dimension more 3D on the image layer.

Also, I must say, I didn't think this out too well when I photographed this lovely pastel card on that bright red placemat (uggh shoulda Photoshopped that out). LOL Hang in there, as there are more closeup photos below in which I didn't use the placemat, so it's a little easier on your eyes.

Also these closeups were taken before I sponged on the blue sky.

can you see the popped up sections?! My camera seems to be on the fritz lately, so I will try
my best to get some better pics next post (pinky promise).

But hey, it's late . . . so these will have to do*wink* Now back to the card details . . . The CS is SU gable green and perfect plum to try and match the variegated colors in the ribbon. The green piece was put through the Big Shot with the numbers collage cuttlebug folder and layered on the perfect plum. Lastly, that sweet little baby buggy charm was added.

Well, it has been a bit of a crunch week without too much sleep. *sigh* and I have to get back up in about 6 hours to start working again, so I better get off of here and talk to y'all later.

Monkeyin around at Tuesday Morning Sketches

There is some fun going on over at Tuesday Morning Sketches Blog (hosted by Melissa Craig), and although they're not really monkeyin around, I guess I was when I used this sketch. LOL KL Stampin N Scrappin is sponsoring this week at TMS, so stop on over there to check out what you can win from me and Melissa! :)

Using the TMS challenge, I created a set of 6 little Valentine cards for some friends. I also used the new Monkey stamp acquired for my store from C. C. Designs called Flower Power and colored him with Copics and accented with a white Signo gel pen (these stamps will be available in the store later on today). I then used some of my left over Bittersweet BasicGrey paper from last year, pink textured cs, white cs punched with the MS doily punch and the heart stamp and friend sentiment are both from Stampin Up.

I sure hope the girls that receive these love them as much as I did creating them. Thanks so much for the great challenge, Melissa. Hope to see LOTS of you ladies (and gents) out there participating over at TMS!

Bigger IS better if you are hiding!

Bigger is definitely better if you are hiding under it. LOL These cute little house mice are hiding under a party hat for a BIG birthday surprise! I had to cut out this sweet image, because I smudged the wet memento ink with my pinky on the confetti -- ugh then I thought my oval would be a bit small but I would double it up with another and why is it the camera catches that tiny seam so much better than the naked eye?! LOL

Well, anyway, not my best work (did ya see where my mojo went?!) me either . . . but I had to play along in the Saturday Spotlight Challenge!! Did you see they are up to #16 already too?! Wow, this year is going fast! My sweet friend Jessica and Vicki play there, so I have been feelin' guilty that I haven't been playing along. So this cute HM card is for you, Jess. KL SNS Challenge 15

We are up to Challenge #15 at KL Stampin N Scrappin, and this time it is hosted by Jodi Stanisch!! She came up with a terrific sketch for us all to try.

Above is Jodi's terrific sketch!

And . . . here is the card I created for it. I used the yummy BasicGrey Sugar Rush papers and a scrap from the Two Scoops pack along with the sweet Cuddling image from Rachelle Anne Miller/Stampavie to create a Valentine for my hubby. Even though it has a little glitter and a flower, I don' t think he will mind. :) The image was colored with prismacolor pencils and blended with gamsol then accented a little with some liquid applique (heated to be puffy). Tools used were Stampin Up Oval punches and MS doily punch.

KL Stamipn N Scrappin Challenge 14

I have also entered in the Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge this week since I used a lot of layers (some thick chipboard too). They have such lovely inspiration there as well. Lets show the girls some love at Spoon Full of Sugar too! :)

For my card, I couldn't decide if I wanted to use chipboard die cuts or nestabilities, so I used a little of both! My Lucy and Kitty image was stamped, colored with both Copics and prismacolor pencils then blended on whisper white by Stampin Up, then cut out with the largest of the large oval nesties. It looked like it fit so well over the Labels One die but needed some texture, so I used the heart block cuttlebug folder. the brackets are chipboard pieces covered with the floral paper from BasicGrey's porcelain pad layered on pretty in pink and pale plum. The top part was embossed with one of the smaller CB folders from the With Love set and half pearls were added to accent the flowers. The sheer ribbon was added across the bottom to keep with the soft feminine theme.

Challenge #13 at KL Stampin N Scrappin

Appreciate a Dragon Day is being celebrated with challenge #13 over at KL Stampin N Scrappin this week, and it is being hosted by Joanna Moore from Sitting on Pens.

For the challenge, I tried my first easel card and used one of the new Dustin Pike stamps from High Hopes stamps, colored with prisimacolor pencils and gamsol. I think it goes great with the "Tail Not Waggin" sentiment. I also paired him up with the Lime Rickey BasicGrey dp and then added some stitching (more practice required but not too bad).

WIZARD BLOG CANDY

Hello to my dear friends and fellow stampers,

I have been meaning to post some goodies for a Blog Candy giveaway, as I have passed the 20K mark, and started a new year with my small but growing KL Stampin N Scrappin Store. :)

I have a slightly used (maybe 5 or 6 times tops) raspberry colored Wizard that I just could not get the hang of. If you are not familiar with Wizard, it is found on the Spellbinders site, and it works with a ratchet-type handle instead of a crank. Guess I am "ratchet challenged." LOL I have an older Sizzix that I kept reverting back to since I couldn't get the hang of the Wizard. For the sake of creating space and organizing, I would like to give this away to someone ($99.99 value) if you don't mind paying the shipping, which I figure will be around $10-15. I will ship the cheapest way I can to save you money. I just hate to throw it out.

I have the instruction manual, DVD for visual instructions, both thick white plates, a thin white plate, embossing rubber and thin magnetic sheet.

KL Stampin N Scrappin Challenge #12

Hey, come join us over at KL Stampin N Scrappin for another week of fun with a great color challenge hosted by Risa West! Here is my submission for the challenge. You don't have to have KL Stampin N Scrappin products to play along, but if you do . . . why not use them?!

I used Chef Tilda who is currently all but sold out (she's on sale ya know) and the BasicGrey Cup of Tea Bitsy Set. They aren't tiny at all . . .

but kinda a half sheet of stamps (acrylics) that sell for only $6/set. pretty good deal, I think.

I even tried to stick with the theme when it came to coloring my Chef Tilda, but WOW black hair is tough to color, ya know it?! The little cup on the inside had to be re-dotted so the dots were white instead of all that pink showing through. Can you believe that inside piece was what I started with when I made the piece that Tilda is setting on? Yep, I think it's a scrap piece of rose red (forgot to look it up and its 2 a.m. so forgive me if I'm wrong I will correct in the later a.m. LOL). I pieced it on the black but then decided I wanted it dotty too, so . . . I grabbed the swiss dots folder, then I thought it would look pretty with craft white over it. Although I really love my craft white I have a terrible time waiting patiently for it to dry, so I covered it with clear EP. then it was in between the dots, so I had to make it more uniform and used versamark to color it in more to get the glossy look all over the paper . . . then before you know it --well, it almost looks more red than pink (sigh that's close to pink though and its late so its all good) *wink*

I think Faith aka Markie's Mom would REALLY love this card with all these polka dots, whatcha think?! I hope she stops by! :) That would make my day! I have loved Faith's dotty cards for quite a while now.

Here are a couple more Christmas cards/RAKS from friends. This first card is from my friend, Chris Salyers, and of course the glitter and CE aren't nearly as sparkly in the picture as in real life. Thanks, Chris! This is one cute card, and I LOVE teddy bears! :)

This sweet kitty cat card is from Jessica George, one of my best friends in the bloggin'/scrappin' world! :) She was also a DT member at KL Stampin N Scrappin last year, and I will truly miss working with her every week. Now these were SO much fun to create, and ya know . . . I just can't stop using this sketch from the January challenge at KL StampinNScrappin DT blog. It is pretty versatile, if I do say so myself, and I really LOVE this MS doily punch too. Using buttons was the challenge over at Sparkle's blog for this week, and I just had to play along. I am working on my Christmas card stash for 2010 so I don't have to fret over them this December -- besides I still had this one out on my craft table to use. :)

Piece of Quiet

Although I have seen a few elegant tissue box holders (click for a terrific video by GinaK), my creations tend to lean towards the cute side. With the pretty swirls, I probably could have used a more elegant stamp, but this sweet little boy stamp from Penny Black was just itching to be inked. :)

I thought I had more pomegranate DP, so that I could stick with just the pom and the kiwi kiss colors, but alas I did not, so a little groovy guava was added to the design. I think the colors really work well together, but I was actually planning on pom and kiwi to match my parent's decor so that I could give my mom a little something to put her cards in.

I was playing around with another sketch, and although I don't have all of the requirements of that one, I used colors and "frosting-like" embellishments on this one so that it would qualify for Sparkle's Christmas challenge. I have committed myself to working on 1o Christmas cards a month with the CCC2010 challenge over at SplitCoastStampers, so I shouldn't be in the predicament I was in this year. *phew* Only 9 more to go this month. lol

Hope everyone is resting and recovering from a busy week last week with family and friends. We are looking forward to a wonderful New Year!! :)

I wanted to let you know we will be having new challenges for 2010 with our new design team. We are kicking off January with not just one challenge and prize package, but TWO!!

Last of this year's Christmas cards

My good friend, Luanne, gave me a great idea on the use of a stencil of the ornament punch from Stampin Up. Therefore, I created this card for our stampin' group. (hoping they are too busy to look here before I get them mailed out). lol

I used the stencil and stamped the words Joy and Noel inside first, embossed that part and the ornament top with gold EP, then sponged the color on them using the stencil. I punched out the MS branches and layered them to look like a pine branch and added glittery stickles to them too.

Card deets: CS: glorious green, whisper white, and close to cocoa; DP: BG Wassail; Tools/Embellishments: glittery white stickles, gold EP, MS branch and doily edger punches, glue, pop dots. Inks: Mellow moss, glorious green, real red and rose red

Hoping they like them. They are pretty quick and easy. I seem to be getting closer to being done with my Christmas "to do" list. Hope you are all getting your list completed too.

Shepherd's Awe of the Sweet Savior

I am still behind with my Christmas cards, can you tell?! Well . . . with so many great stamps from High Hopes to choose from in the store, I don't mind creating more. I do usually have them all in the mail by now though, so I am a bit stressed about that. *sigh* This card was created with the Shepherd's Awe stamp, nestabilities, prismacolor pencils, Gamsol, sakura gel pen, liquid applique, and BG's Wassail paper (horded from last year . . . shhh).

This one I kept a little more CAS (clean and simple), but I am really thinking I need some white dots or doodles around those bashful blue circles, at least the scallops. :) The stamp on this card is Sweet Savior also from High Hopes. The paper is from the Eskimo Kisses pack, and the sentiment is from SU. I only used part of it on the outside, but the entire sentiment on the inside says "May the miracle of Christmas find you safe in the Peace of God, warm in the Light of Christ." I think with the sweet savior and the warmth of the lamb this sentiment works well. Let me know what you think. Thanks for stopping by!

I have been wanting to play along in the sketch challenge ever since Wednesday. I had my pieces all started and an idea in my head, but . . . not enough time to sit down and get it done UNTIL today. :) I was very inspired by Roxie's card and had to try out the technique using the cuttlebug folder. So I gave it a go. I used a Great Impressions snowman, my d'vine swirls cb folder, Archival pearlescent sky blue ink, coluzzle for some of the circles and circle punch for others, my new MS snowflake punch that I just HAD to buy after seeing all the terrific creations my DT is coming up with for our November challenge at KL SNS blog, and rhinestones, glitter and different shades of blue CS to create my card. Another quick Christmas card from Kelly!!

Although I would love to add more brads, flowers or ribbon to the left of the card, I was trying to keep this one a little more simple for "shipping" purposes. Can't have too many bumps in there ya know. I have a local postal worker that loves to feel my envelopes. She knows I add all kinds of goodies to my cards, and dog-gone it, she is too fussy. LOL

Deets: Stamp is one of three Angel Emmas from the Angel Emma set (C.C. Designs). DP is Eskimo kisses, which matches so well with SU real red and bashful blue (embossed with the divine swirls cuttlebug folder). The other cs color is bordering blue (I believe, as it was a scrap piece I pulled from my cutting area). *blush* The primas are from Oriental Trading, and they are held on with lemonade brads in pink and teal that were sparkled up a bit with Stickles. The image was colored with Copics and then accented with white gel pen, Sakura gel pen for the harp and stickles for her wings.

Alpaca Photos from HGA

Well, I don't care what the judges thought . . . I am rather proud of these photos (which look even better matted in dark brown, black and 2 shades of blue in that order *wink*).

What's she talking about you might be thinking . . . well, I just had to share with you some photos that I shot and submitted for the Empire Photo Contest last month. Even though they didn't get an honorable mention, I really LOVE them . . .

The caption for this one was "Alpaca See . . . Alpaca Doo."

Lazarus was only a few days old here, and after following mom across the field she stopped and showed him what he was supposed to do near "the pile"

(at first I thought if only they had wings they looked like they were ready for take off).

Then I captured this one of Cody and Amber and named it "Precious and Few (are the moments)," and I had printed it out in black and white for the contest. Cody was just sitting down by Amber in the field and was talking to her when she put her head over almost on his shoulder like she was wanting a hug. She is such a sweet gal, you can't help but love her!!

This one is my all time favorite though! We named it . . . "A Mother's Love."

It is another picture of Serena and Lazarus (the cuter end this time). Aren't they sweeeeeet?!

So . . . leave me a comment and let me know what YOU think of them. I would love to hear, and honestly I had some photography classes in high school so I "thought" I knew what I was doing, but . . . if you have any pointers, PLEASE let me know what you think

Are your Christmas cards done yet?!

Well, mine aren't either . . . but, with cute little images like this . . . who can NOT create just a few more even if your cards are complete?! This sweet pup is just one of the stamps from the Christmastime set by C.C. Designs being sold at KL SNS. He makes me chuckle when I see him all tangled up in the lights -- this happens almost every year at the Little household. I swear it would be a LOT less stressful if we had "disposable" Christmas lights -- ya know use them one year and then recycle them, and then turn around and buy new disposable ones next year. LOL

I colored this little guy with my prismacolor pencils, blended with Gamsol to give him a watercolor effect, and then layered the image on ruby red and chocolate chip. The holly berry dp is from the Eskimo Kiss pad from BasicGrey, and light teal piece from Two Scoops. That panel was ran through the Snow Dots cuttlebug folder for some extra texture. The snowflakes (to play along in our challenge) were dusted with faux snow for added texture and sparkle.

Thankful Couple

Aww, this couple has the sweetest look of admiration for one another. Don't ya just love it?!

Deets: The Harvest image is colored with both Copics and prismacolor pencils (w Gamsol) when I needed that "just right color" and don't have quite enough Copics yet. The DP is ruby red and chocolate chip to match the colors in the image and the Indian Summer BasicGrey dp. (I noticed her head has a little bit of what looks like white showing through, but it is just in the photo, possibly from rubbing with the stump, looks a little waxy if I get real close to it. hmmmm) Also, the sentiment was from a SU set called Thoroughly Thankful and the the dp used was Indian Summer. The challenges for The Greeting Farm this week were a LOT of FUN! Thanks to everyone who put it together for the past 2 weeks, and thanks to Kristine and Cheryl for the tips about printing my digis. I really appreciate you ladies more than you know!! I have to mention that I really DO love the fact that you can scale them down to whatever size you need. I printed these litttle cuties out as wallet size photos since they are TIFF files that I can't open with PhotoShop, but they were then just the right size to center in my largest Coluzzle circle. :) I had to move the circle over just a little to tie my bow though. I hope they like it as much as I do . . . .

Too Stinkin' Cute Snowglobe . . .

I can't say I have seen a cuter skunk couple than these two . . . LOL. My dear friend and DT member, Cheryl, has been showing off such cute animal friends from The Greeting Farm that I had to go check them out and believe it or not, this is also my FIRST ever use of a digi image. :D yaaay. I had tried once before and the ink just dispersed across the page. Well, thanks to Kristine, another good friend and the senior DT coordinator for my KL SNS design team I can now use my digi creations (with a little heat gun action on the page after it prints -- boy, that was TOO easy, huh?!). Was I the ONLY one who didn't know this?! (I think so *blush*)

Anyway . . . long story short, they are having a guest designer tryout over at The Greeting Farm and although I don't have a LOT of free time, I figured by golly I was going to try out for just a "one month spot" with TGF and I was going to CREATE some "me time" to get it done!! LOL

They are running a 2-week challenge and I thought I had a little extra time to get the cards in . . . well, not so. I was supposed to upload this cutie Thursday night, and I didn't actually finish it all up until last night . . . not good. Well, I posted it in their gallery anyway (cause it's too cute not to share) and while I was at it found another challenge to enter it in.

Growing up?!

Ooh, I just love sunflowers, and when this sweet Brigitta from the Swiss Pixies collectionbecame available on C.C. Designs wholesale list, I just had to add her to my store! If you notice our home page at http://shop.KLstampinNscrappin.com I chose sunflowers because they are so bright and cheery (now mind you I love roses, daisies and tulips too, but sunflowers I just have a special love for).

I sat down and colored her with my Copics last night, added a few highlights with the Signo white gel pen (I have to find some more of these for our store!!) and then layered the image on some Nook and Pantry BG DP. The stamped sentiment is from InkaDinkaDoo's Kids Quotes collection, which I had hoped to add to the store, but their minimum order requirements are a bit steep at $500, so we are holding off on that one for a while (at least after the new year). *wink* Here is a blurry picture of the stamp, sorry my camera and lighting were not cooperating too much this morning. (out of the mouths of babes but if it were ONLY true!) lol

Okay, so the BasicGrey paper and Magnolias also came, and I had so many new things to play with, I didn't know where to start. I really wanted to dive into the new BasicGrey paper -- Eskimo Kisses, Indian Summer or Nook and Pantry, but I didnt' have much time this morning. You see I stayed up until about 3 a.m. getting envelopes ready to ship out this morning,

and then got back up at 7:30 to get my son around

(should be busy typing right now . . . shhh don't tell on me).

If you were waiting on an order, the shipments all arrived yesterday and they were on their way to you 8 a.m. EST this morning! Wooohooo! So, I had a card kit already to go with this cute Clarabelle and Riley stamp from a swap I had participated in, but I hadn't gotten a chance to make a sample card

like I usually do with the contents before sending it out.

So, here he is all decked out in green and blue (and yellow) with his favorite little calf.

I was so nervous about getting it done in time that I forgot the stars until I had it all together, so a little added distressing (me and the paper) trying to get those puppies only through one layer as they wouldn't push through all 3 layers. In case you are wondering, they aren't brads. I picked up some of the stars and hearts a while back when they were on clearance. They have prongs on the back like the items you would use in a Be-Dazzler (?sp). They work great when you remember them on the first layer. LOL Just pop them through the paper and fold over the prongs and you are set. They stay rather flat then too.

These are all of the Copic colors I used
(need some more shades of blue to add to my Copic collection though).

Glowbug Inspired Scoops

. . . Two Scoops that is. :)

I was looking through Glowbug (aka Chris Olsen's) gallery yesterday, as she was SCS's featured stamper this past Saturday, and I fell in love with this beautiful card, so I CASED it . . . well, kinda. *wink* Then I went to post to the featured stampers challenge page, I realized that I cased a sketch challenge. Well . . .you can imagine my disappointment . . . but hey, it's still a cute card, and . . . I need to get moving on some Christmas cards, so I just might CASE this one again. :) Thanks, Chris, for the inspiration!!

I didn't cut my front layer rectangle quite as long as Chris did, and then when I went to center it, my ribbons were in the way . . . so I attached it a little more to the right. I used a snowman from Great Impressions, used faux stitching because I am still fighting the tension settings on my sewing machine to get it to sew paper properly (its as old as me and kinda stubborn too -- ohh, that part is not at all like me! *wink*) But I used that lovely Two Scoops, which we still have a KL Stampin N Scrappin (see the quilt-like pattern? Pretty huh?! I think so) and some cuttlebug folders, D'vine Swirls and Snowflakes, punched the SU sentiment from All Year Cheer out with my small and then large oval and adhered them with pop dots on top of pop dots under the image. The image was stamped with Momento ink and colored with prismacolor pencils, gamsol and some stickles for the fuzzy parts of his mittens and earmuffs.

It was dreary and cold here yesterday, so . . . I sure hope your days are Merry and Bright where ever you may be!

By the way, before I go . . . if you are waiting on an order, the following are on the way:
1. The 2008 Halloween stamps and the Yummy collection of Magnolia stamps should be here any day, as they shipped the end of September.
2. BasicGrey papers shipped out today (all the papers will be in stock very soon)
3. High Hopes stamps are shipping out on Wednesday, and Bethany tells me it should only take a couple of days shipping!

Woohoo, I am so excited to get them all -- of course they will probably come the same day ;) which makes for a busy day, but that's okay. Halloween cards . . . but Not?

This cute little rockin' bear was created for the Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential challenge blog. He is from the Rockin Out C.C. Designs stamp set, and i thought what little boy doesn't want to be a rock star at least one halloween in his life, right?! The DP is called Witch's Brew from Reminisce, and I tried to keep with the circle theme going on in the paper.

If you are interested in playing along The Challenge is called Halloween, but NOT!You will need to make a creation with a Halloween theme using NO Halloween images! Get creative and think of using Halloween colors and any images you can "turn into" something for Halloween!

To get into the mood to create a Halloween creation prior to the card, I grabbed some halloween rub ons, my Martha Stewart fence punch, and some other goodies that my friend, Deb C, sent to me last year with some pretty ribbon and web like orange wide ribbon (I cut off in the photo) and created this fun tag. Now I have to get a gift together for someone for Halloween to be able to add this to it. :) lol

God Is Good!

Not quite positive this is what the girls had in mind at Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge for this week's challenge, but I am going to try and submit it anyway. :)
We were to show the world rejoicing in the Lord in our cards. Although I didn't use the visual image as my center point -- I have flowers blooming in the background in the DP (Bella Rose from Stampin Up), and I think my sentiment with "God is Good" shows that we are rejoicing in the Lord. This card was given to our pastor today for pastor's appreciation (its the month of October in case you weren't aware so you have the entire month to prepare). The sentiments on the front of this card are from Sweet and Sassy stamps.
The inside was decorated with the same paper, but the sentiment is from Stampin' Up. I had to change it a little bit since it is from "us" and not me. The sentiment reads Blessings brighten when we count them! Thank You for blessing my life (changed to our lives) in such a wonderful way!" I used my marker to ink up the words I wanted to use and tried my best to keep my printing small like the font size to add the "our lives" part. The cs colors are ruby red and chocolate chip although I think it looks black in this last photo.

I am thrilled to be a guest designer on Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge blog today!! I don't think I gave them my best card ever, but I DO like it. The challenge for this week is to create a card in which you are "thinking of someone" or "praying for someone," and my Edwin card was created with a friend and his granddaughter in mind. You see we were all baptized together last month, and I thought the egg represents "new life and/or a new beginning" so I am sending this one out to Jim and Kylee this week. Lots Happenin' at KL Stampin' N Scrappin'

Oh my gosh, there has been so much going on behind the scenes at KL Stampin N Scrappin that I am dizzy and a bit giddy with excitement! The newest Magnolia order is on its way. The BasicGrey is on its way. I am excited about adding High Hopes stamps, too, but have only had about 5 items ordered for them so far. So . . if you are interested in something from High Hopes that isn't shown in our store inventory, please let me know, and I can add it. I would like to send Bethany a big ole first time order from KL Stampin N Scrappin, but I don't want to hold onto a lot of the older stamps if you already have them too. (watch for a new release coming between November or January from HH too).
This page was created for a circle journal in which a group of good friends from over at SCS and myself have been participating for a while now. This year we are to decorate the folder pages to show our stampin' style and a little bit about ourselves. Well, my son is a very big part of my life, so this page was about him. All the time growing up Cody would stick salamanders or tiny toads/frogs in his pocket and everyone said he was "all boy," so although we have never had a lizard this Edwin reminds me of him. Also the Lime Rickey paper is perfect for boys and bright colors, right?!

This page was created with the Clarabelle and Riley stamp, but I just had to cut out Clarabelle (sorry girl) and add an alpaca since they are another big part of our lives (although we don't care for them on a daily basis as the farm is at my parent's home), we do LOVE to visit and take part when we can in shearing and showing, and watching a birth (when we can). I also used the Spots and Dots folder and rectangular nesties on this page. I kept the pages mostly flat so that they closed nicely in the book with all of our other goodies in there, so not too many embellishments here.

Also . . . we have surpassed the 15K mark according to our counter over at KL Stampin N Scrappin DT blog, and I am very proud to share a few goodies I got at Target the other day with 2 LUCKY WINNERS, so . . . head on over there by Monday night 12 ET for a chance to win this collection plus your choice of one of the Rachelle Anne Miller stamps that are in stock at the store.

Great Sunday and great challenge on SSCC

I had a terrific day today in which we had a wonderful church service and then baptism ceremony afterwards (during which I was baptized). It was a wonderful service and ended up being a warm, sunny day after a cool week, so it was a very nice change as well. We couldn't have asked for a better day with family and friends. Then when we got back home I saw this terrific challenge on the SSCC blog. I just HAD to play along. Also, I had to create a card for a dear friend who underwent knee surgery this past week, so what a great challenge card to use.

Fall is in the air, and I think she will definitely like these colors -- mellow moss, mustard, chocolate chip and close to cocoa.

Then to make my day complete, I finally got a chance to play along in the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge "on a Sunday" too! :) The scripture was chosen by Kathy Winter: Ecclesiastes 3:1, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." (NIV)

This scripture is such a beautiful one and perfect for the day. Thanks, Kathy, for a great challenge to create a fall card (ya know the Earth tone colors are my favorites to work with).

This sweet lion image from Magnolia really captured my heart. Isn't he sweet?! I know most of them are, but I just love their "puppy dog eyes." He was colored in with my Copics and sponged with SU summer sun and old olive ink for distressing on the edges. These papers and embellishments were also included in my card kit I created for Lena's Magnolia card kit swap. The papers used were Green Fatigue and Palm Fronds. The sentiment is from the Riveting set (don't look too close this one smeared a little), and the main image is the Lion from Magnolia stamps. The cs in the layers are both old olive from Stampin Up and Palo Verdes from Bazzill (?think I spelled that right as the labels are now gone on their way to Lena's home . . . lol). I sure hope you girls in the group have fun with these Magnolia kits. I know I can't wait to see what everybody sent. It will be like Christmas getting them in the mail.

Speaking of Christmas, we recently added the new Basic Grey as preorders at the store along with preorders of the Yummy collection from Magnolia. I am totally excited that we are soon going to be adding High Hopes stamps to our line-up at KL Stampin N Scrappin store, so stay tuned for preorders soon so I know what you girls need or don't need. I don't want to order in stamps you already have. So if there is something you are looking for from High Hopes, shoot me an email or comment here and I will try my best to order some of those in. I will be posting a few on the site, and then I decide on how many of that individual stamp I will be ordering for the site depending on the response from you girls/customers. I should be ordering them by the end of the month, and this month may very well be the last month I order from Magnolia stamps due to the restrictions on the wholesale orders.

Card kit Sample using Tilda with Lilacs

This sweet little Tilda was from KL Stampin N Scrappin where they sold out very quickly earlier this year. It is Tilda with Lilacs, and since she was so popular I thought I would use her with my card kit for Lena's Magnolia card kit swap. So, after getting my DP together, stamping the images, and collecting goodies to go together well with this image, I decided to create a card to show you all. Of course, the more I played around with the kit, the more I decided to add to the kits I am sending out as well. This card is 5 1/2 inches square, so I also included the white card base (some thick cardstock my SIL got for me from work that *gasp* they were just throwing away -- Thanks, sis!). The chocolate chip CS is from Stampin Up and the pink is textured CS from Bazzill. The DP I used was pink polka dot from "Me and My Big Ideas" and BasicGrey "Two Scoops."

Here is a photo of the inside as well created to match the front. Sorry for the faded shades of the photos. The lighting is poor today with an overcast sky. :(

These ladies on the KL SNS design team are really pretty special to me!! Not only do they help me show you great creative, inspiring ideas every day of the week but they also got together and created images for Kristine to showcase in a terrific little keepsake altered flower book for me. Isn't it terrific?!

Each page shows a photo of one of the design team members with her own image colored by her and the pages were even created with that person's stampin/creating style in mind. I really think they did a TERRIFIC job. Most of these images had been sold at the KL SNS store at one time or another. Finally starting my Christmas cards

Well by this time last year I was almost finished with my Christmas cards. I typically join in on the Christmas card challenge over at Splitcoast stampers (SCS), but with new work responsibilities this past March, I have had very limited time. So . . . here is the first card of the season. First off I must say the tea dye ink that makes the image look old fashioned isn't quite that dark on the left as it looks in the photo, couldn't tame it down in PhotoShop without making the rest of the card lighter. Ahh well, you get the idea. (wink)
This card was actually created from a Christmas card kit, which I received in a swap I was in with some great friends over at SCS. This one came from Monkeymama aka Angela. I just love this stamped image. There are so many things you can do with it. I chose to just keep a little bit of color by coloring the holly leaves green and then sponging on some tea dye distress ink from Ranger products. The cs colors used were hunter green and bravo burgundy from Stampin Up, and the dp Angela included in the kit were Stampin Up, so I knew they would match perfectly. I added the brads (albeit a little crooked I noticed after punching the holes), ribbons and some of my favorite K and Company half pearls. One down at least 49 more to go. lol :)

Are you ready for fall?! Wow, it has been hot these last few days, but luckily here in the northeastern United States it has not been as bad as out West. Phew, I don't want to move to California when it is THIS hot! :)

Well with my wish for cooler temps . . . Fall was the inspiration for this card with my never before inked Harvest Bear from T.A.C. and the little pumpkins are from my Happy Fall Y'all SU set. The colors are old olive, pumpkin pie and really rust with some BasicGrey DP thrown in. All of the sketches in this post are from the Anni-Verve-sary week from http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ this past week. They were lots of fun! :) Julee from Verve gave away a ton of goodies. I was a little jealous that I didn't win a set, but . . . ahh well, I still had a good time playing along.

This card also was created with a stamp that hasn't seen ink before. It is from the JustRite monogram set. I believe it is considered the 1 3/8 inch set. It was one of their early sets that I just had to snatch up before they were all sold out and the new ones in stock. I hadn't used it for months and months, but now I would love to add more to my collection. If you haven't seen them before, you gotta check them out. The dp is the pretty Bella Rose from Stampin Up and a little extra scrap of a darker red in the front that matched so well I couldn't resist.
Lastly, this set was made with the discontinued groovy guava and purely pomegranate papers and Riveting stamp set from Stampin Up. I was going to place an image in the center rectangle, but I just couldn't bring myself to cover up that pretty patterned paper. I also moved the ribbon up in the sketch challenge instead of leaving it at the bottom to cover my edge of the scalloped layer. It also has tiny half pearls on every other scallop, but later after the picture I decided to use them on each little scallop.

Wishing You Sunny Days

Hello there, readers! :)

I am wishing you all sunny days!! We have had a pretty wet summer here in Pennsylvania, and now it is getting hot and muggy . . . ohh boy, but ya know before we know it the leaves will be changing and it will get cooler. So, I am not complaining really. When I saw this Tilda Animal Keeper stamp, I knew I just had to save one of them for myself!! This Tilda reminds me SO much of my mom when she is doing chores with her rake and bucket or water/feed. On second thought, maybe I should have stamped a few alpacas in the background to make her look more like Mom. :)

The card stock was run through the tiny mosaic folder to make it look more rugged and then layered on dp with vines and flowers from the Junebug collection. The tag is also from the Junebug "Do Me a Favor" kit. The image and layers were either trimmed to incorporate rounded corners or punched out with Label One dies to keep the same uniformity. Tilda was also colored with Copics, Sakura sparkly gel pen and a Signo white gel pen for highlights.

This Tilda card is on its way to my mom to send her a little happy mail. The sentiment says "Wishing you sunny days . . ." and the inside says "and smaller bean piles." LOL I think she will get a chuckle out of this, I know I did. I just hope she doesn't see this post before she gets it and spoils the fun.
