Christmas Digi Album Started

Christmas Digi-Scrappin is EASY with MyMemories Suite software!! :)  I totally love this new digital software.  These pages were created without using the templates and piecing goodies together, using shadows and embellishments.  It's so easy!!  I am surprised that it just seems to "click" for me with this software.  I have tried others in the past and just never got the hang of it including my PhotoShop CS (that I used to just use for watermarks and touching up photos), and I must say I believe even a child could do it.  lol  They have a lot of great template designs.  You really should check it out.  I used papers and embellishments from a couple of different kits this time but mostly from the Christmas pack called "A Gift For You," which came free with the software, and there are other great Christmas kits HERE if you are interested for $9.99 and under.

And for my friends who say they don't have a 12 x 12 printer ... *whisper* This is a printable 8 x 11 album I created so that I can print it out on photo paper for a hand-made album.  I don't have a big printer either, but I figure if I ever want to make a hard-copy 12 x 12 album, I can have it printed at our local Staples store.  Now, I can't WAIT to add the photos and see what it looks like.  :)

There is also another great kit that I want to use on completion of this album called "Classic Red Gift Tags" - a free kit that I have downloaded and the Christmas in Gold bundle looks very vintage and yummy too!

I also wanted to show you all that I finished some Christmas cards with those lovely ornaments from a few days ago ... here they are using Wassail or Eskimo Kisses Basic Grey paper and the red and green CS are from Stampin Up.  The die cuts are from Stampin Up's ornaments set or Die-Namics ornament set (smaller ones).  Odds and ends to decorate them including gold ink, some pearls and brads from my collection (brads from Eyelet Outlet).

Speaking of gifts for family, my Dad's birthday was today, but we are celebrating it tomorrow.  I sat down and made him a card tonight after some inspiration from pinterest.  There sure are a lot of masculine cards using stars, and I just love stars! :)  My Dad is a fairly patriotic guy and loves eagles, so I think this will fit the bill.  Honestly, I wanted to distress the edges, tear them a bit and make it look more rustic, but he's a straight, precise, always on the level kinda guy, so I think clean lines and straight edges would be better appreciated by HIM anyway.  lol

Card Details:   the paper is from Bo Bunny's Liberty collection with some stars and circles punched out from a separate page from this collection as well.  The "man ribbon" and twine were in my stash as well as the peace charm, which were added to the layers of Bo Bunny and creamy caramel cs before it was attached to a chocolate chip card base.  I love using creamy caramel and chocolate chip from Stampin Up.  The inside has a folded sheet of regular typing paper adhered to the flap for the birthday sentiment to be written on.

Quilted Memories by My Memories Suite & Me

Today I had a little free time to play around with My Memories Suite to create some fun scrapbook pages.  I  think I will update this one later once I can access the hard drive this evening and pull up some old photos or scan some in of our wedding day.  I think that might be a better "remember when" theme to go with our most recent vacation this past summer for our 22nd anniversary.

Digital Scrapbooking ... anyone a novice like me?!

Tried out My Memories suite 3 digital scrapbooking software this evening, and so far I really love the installed designer templates and what I can achieve just using them.  I still want to learn more and how to create my own  pages without using the installed versions, especially since I have some friends who have shown me some very creative ideas in digital scrapbooking (Kris and Jenn - lylas).  I just haven't been able to get the hang of it before, adding shadows to embellishments were the trickiest part - i.e. where to shadow the letters, etc.

Well, My Memories takes all of the guess work out of that.  You choose the embellishments and then choose the color if you want to change it and click on shadow, and boom ... it puts the shadows all at the right angles for you.
